Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

A limbic circuit selectively links active escape to food suppression
Stress has pleiotropic physiologic effects, but the neural circuits linking stress to these responses are not well understood. Here, we describe a novel population of lateral septum neurons expressing neurotensin (LSNts) in mice that are selectively ...

RoundMi: A quantitative method to analyze mitochondrial morphology in mitotic cells
RoundMi is a workflow for rapid analysis of mitochondrial morphology in mitotic cells. By combining adaptive preprocessing with automated segmentation and quantification, it enables accurate measurements from single focal plane images, reducing acquisition time and computational demands while remaining compatible with high‐throughput fixed and live ...

Interaction of serotonin and cholecystokinin in the lateral parabrachial nucleus to control sodium intake [PDF]
Serotonin [5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT)] and CCK injected into the lateral parabrachial nucleus (LPBN) inhibit NaCl and water intake. In this study, we investigated interactions between 5-HT and CCK into the LPBN to control water and NaCl intake. Male Holtzman rats with cannulas implanted bilaterally in the LPBN were treated with furosemide + captopril ...

Protocol for quantifying miRNA trafficking across the endosomal membrane
An in vitro protocol measures miRNA uptake into endosomes isolated from mammalian cell extracts, which are free of subcellular contaminants. Performed at 37 °C in the presence of ATP, it ensures the import of single‐stranded miRNA into the endosomal lumen.

This systematic review synthesizes prognostic models for survival and recurrence in resected non‐small cell lung cancer. While many models demonstrate moderate to good discrimination, few are externally validated and reporting quality is variable, limiting clinical applicability and highlighting the need for robust, transparent model development ...

ABSTRACT Objective Cognitive decline is a disabling and variable feature of Parkinson disease (PD). While cholinergic system degeneration is linked to cognitive impairments in PD, most prior research reported cross‐sectional associations. We aimed to fill this gap by investigating whether baseline regional cerebral vesicular acetylcholine transporter ...
