Comparison of the effect of Mospilan SP and its active substance on Artemia franciscana
Contaminants formed after the use of pesticides raise concerns for human health and aquatic ecosystems, i. a., due to their high persistence in surface waters and their further migration to other components of the environment.

An overview and categorization of man‐made per‐ or polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) including low‐molar‐mass and high‐molar‐mass fluorochemicals, and their international regulations is presented. Though certain PFASs are toxic, bioaccumulative and cross the human cellular membranes, others, such as fluoropolymers, are safe, reliable and involved in ...

Hydroxypropyl‐β‐cyclodextrin (HPβCD)–N,N‐diethyl‐meta‐toluamide (DEET) complex extended tick repellency to 168 h. Full protection against Aedes aegypti for 7 h with HPβCD‐DEET. HPβCD reduced DEET release and skin retention significantly. No embryotoxicity observed below 325 mg L−1 in zebrafish model.

Lethal Concentration of Ammonia and Tolerable Range of pH in zebrafish (Danio rerio) [PDF]
Increasing in water ammonia is one of the major problems in aquaculture. Nitrogen-containing materials are producing in different ways, including oxidation of nitrogen-containing organic matters such as proteins, manure decomposition and ammonia ...

Determination of LC50 of copper in Litopenaeus vannamei
We determined the LC50 of copper (as CUSO_4) and it's Maximum Allowable Concentration (MAC) for Litopenaeus vannamei. The study was performed in 2003 for which bioassays were used for acute toxicity tests in a period of 96 hours during which water parameters such as water temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, hardness, alkalinity were also measured.

Effect of Pozzolanic Cement Exposure in Nile Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus)
Cement used in structures such as bridges, dams, and retaining walls built on the aquatic ecosystem harms different organisms. The current study reveals the effect of pozzolanic cement (PC) on Nile Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus).

Mortality in an invasive ant does not scale linearly with fipronil exposure
Increasing fipronil concentration did not linearly increase yellow crazy ant mortality when introduced via horizontal transfer; high doses may limit food sharing. Queen mortality was low, and surviving workers were averse to feeding. Abstract Background Controlling eusocial invasive and other pestiferous insects is difficult.
