Direct infection of dendritic cells during chronic viral infection suppresses antiviral T cell proliferation and induces IL-10 expression in CD4 T cells. [PDF]
Elevated levels of systemic IL-10 have been associated with several chronic viral infections, including HCV, EBV, HCMV and LCMV. In the chronic LCMV infection model, both elevated IL-10 and enhanced infection of dendritic cells (DCs) are important for ...

Reemergence of Lymphocytic Choriomeningitis Mammarenavirus, Germany
Lymphocytic choriomeningitis mammarenavirus (LCMV) is a globally distributed zoonotic pathogen transmitted by house mice (Mus musculus). We report the reemergence of LCMV (lineages I and II) in wild house mice (Mus musculus domesticus) and LCMV lineage ...

Fast LCMV-Based Methods for Fundamental Frequency Estimation [PDF]
Recently, optimal linearly constrained minimum variance (LCMV) filtering methods have been applied to fundamental frequency estimation. Such estimators often yield preferable performance but suffer from being computationally cumbersome as the resulting cost functions are multimodal with narrow peaks and require matrix inversions for each point in the ...

Constant-Beamwidth LCMV Beamformer with Rectangular Arrays
This paper presents a novel approach utilizing uniform rectangular arrays to design a constant-beamwidth (CB) linearly constrained minimum variance (LCMV) beamformer, which also improves white noise gain and directivity. By employing a generalization of the convolutional Kronecker product beamforming technique, we decompose a physical array into ...

Congenitally acquired persistent lymphocytic choriomeningitis viral infection reduces neuronal progenitor pools in the adult hippocampus and subventricular zone. [PDF]
Lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus (LCMV) can be transmitted through congenital infection, leading to persistent infection of numerous organ systems including the central nervous system (CNS).

Background Increased glucose uptake and utilization via aerobic glycolysis are among the most prominent hallmarks of tumor cell metabolism. Accumulating evidence suggests that similar metabolic changes are also triggered in many virus-infected cells ...

Mouse-to-Human Transmission of Variant Lymphocytic Choriomeningitis Virus
A case of lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus (LCMV) infection led to investigation of the reservoir. LCMV was detected in mice trapped at the patient's home, and 12 isolates were recovered.

Lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus (LCMV) is a well-studied mammarenavirus that can be fatal in congenital infections. However, our understanding of LCMV and its interactions with human host factors remains incomplete.

We have generated doubly transgenic (DT) mice that independently express cDNA genes for the nucleocapsid protein (NP) and the surface glycoproteins (GP) of lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus (LCMV). By RT-PCR, transcription of both transgenes was detected at low levels in brain and kidney but was not observed in the thymus.

The IL-6 cytokine family signals through the common signal transduction molecule gp130 combined with a cytokine-specific receptor. Gp130 signaling on CD4 T cells is vital in controlling chronic infection of mice with lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus ...
