Noise removal using statistical operators for efficient leaf identification

International Journal of Computer Aided Engineering and Technology, 2018
Plant identification based on leaf shape is becoming a popular trend, since each leaf carries substantial information that can be used to identify plant. This is difficult because the features of a leaf shape can be influenced by other leaves that have similar features but different categories. This paper presents the most popular statistical operators:

Effects of Leaf Removal, Leaf Tying, and Overhead Irrigation on Transplanted Pygmy Date Palms

Arboriculture & Urban Forestry, 1994
AbstractThe effects of leaf removal, leaf tying, and overhead irrigation during transplanting were determined using mature pygmy date palms(Phoenix roebelenii). In one experiment palms had all, 2/3, or none of their leaves removed and were irrigated overhead or on the soil surface only.

Vitis vinifera leaf litter for biosorptive removal of nitrophenols

International Journal of Environmental Science and Technology, 2017
Vitis vinifera (grape) leaf litter, an abundant agricultural waste in South Africa was chemically modified with H3PO4 and carbonized for use as biosorbent. Characterization and the potential application of the adsorbent in simultaneous removal of 4-nitrophenol and 2-nitrophenol from aqueous solutions were investigated.

Impact of leaf removal on Istrian Malvasia wine quality

2018
The aim of this study was to assess the impact of three different sunlight exposure conditions, obtained by hand and mechanical leaf removal at pea-size berry stage, on photosynthetic active radiation in the cluster zone, cluster temperature, on volatile aroma compounds, hydroxycinnamic acids and sensory characteristics of Istrian Malvasia (Vitis ...

Simulated Insect Damage to Rice: Effects of Leaf Removal

Journal of Economic Entomology, 1978
Insect damage to rice was simulated by artificially removing various portions of the photosynthetic surfaces during the seedling and tillering stage of growth. Twenty-five and 50% leaf removal in the seedling stage reduced yields 3 and 8%. respectively. Twenty-five and 50% removal in the tillering stage reduced yields 5 and 12%. respectively.
