Rab1A Promotes Hepatic Steatosis by Suppressing Mitophagy via the Raf‐1/ERK1/2/PINK1 Signaling Axis

Why does fat accumulate in the liver? Our study reveals Rab1A as the molecular switch that silences the cell's mitochondrial cleanup crew. Turning Rab1A off reactivates mitophagy, clears excess fat, and reverses fatty liver disease in mice—offering a promising new therapeutic target for MASLD, a growing global health challenge.

Phosphorylated STYK1 Promotes Gemcitabine Resistance via Autophagy‐Mediated Cancer Stemness in Pancreatic Cancer

Gemcitabine resistance remains a major challenge in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. This study identifies STYK1 as a key mediator of chemoresistance through autophagy‐dependent maintenance of cancer stemness. Gemcitabine‐activated AMPK phosphorylates STYK1 at Ser91 and Ser304, enhancing autophagy and stemness.

Commercial apple juice inoculated with Escherichia coli was treated with UV-C, heat (55°C) and Dimethyl Dicarbonate - DMDC (25, 50 and 75 mg/L)-, applied separately and in combination, in order to investigate the possibility of synergistic lethal effects.
