FACTORS INFLUENCING ADHERENCE TO IMATINIB IN INDIAN CHRONIC MYELOID LEUKEMIA PATIENTS: A CROSS-SECTIONAL STUDY [PDF]

open access: yesMediterranean Journal of Hematology and Infectious Diseases, 2015
Adherence to imatinib(IM) is of utmost importance in patients with chronic myeloid leukemia(CML) to maximise treatment effectiveness. The main objective is to measure adherence to    IM & to evaluate individual patient characteristics, personal, treatment related &                    psychological factors influencing adherence behaviour ...

Determinants of Quality of Life in Family Caregivers of Patients With Leukemia: A Cross-Sectional Study

open access: yesSage Open, 2023
This study aimed to determine the quality of life of family caregivers of patients with leukemia and the factors contributing to it. The RAND 36-Item was used to collect data from 152 caregivers. The mean scores of six dimensions of Quality of life (QoL) were low, indicating a limited health state.

Inhibition of BCL2A1 by STAT5 inactivation overcomes resistance to targeted therapies of FLT3-ITD/D835 mutant AML

open access: yesTranslational Oncology, 2022
Tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) are established drugs in the therapy of FLT3-ITD mutated acute myeloid leukemia (AML). However, acquired mutations, such as D835 in the tyrosine kinase domain (FLT3-ITD/D835), can induce resistance to TKIs.

High pseudotumor cerebri incidence in tretinoin and arsenic treated acute promyelocytic leukemia and the role of topiramate after acetazolamide failure

open access: yesLeukemia Research Reports, 2014
Dual differentiation therapy with arsenic trioxide and tretinoin (all-trans-retinoic acid; ATRA) for the management of low and intermediate risk acute promyelocytic leukemia has recently been recommended by the National Comprehensive Cancer Network. Some

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Protocol for monitoring clonal hematopoiesis in transgenic mouse models using multispectral imaging

open access: yesSTAR Protocols
Summary: Clonal hematopoiesis involves the clonal expansion of hematopoietic cells, potentially progressing into hematological malignancies. Here, we present a protocol for the development and characterization of two mouse models designed to simulate ...

Anexelekto/MER tyrosine kinase inhibitor ONO-7475 arrests growth and kills FMS-like tyrosine kinase 3-internal tandem duplication mutant acute myeloid leukemia cells by diverse mechanisms

open access: yesHaematologica, 2017
Nearly one-third of patients with acute myeloid leukemia have FMS-like tyrosine kinase 3 mutations and thus have poor survival prospects. Receptor tyrosine kinase anexelekto is critical for FMS-like tyrosine kinase 3 signaling and participates in FMS ...

Extraction of dynamic patterns from static rna expression data: an application to hematological neoplasms [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Within the study of pathological conditions from the analysis of high-throughput data, the usual approach consists in using supervised classification algorithms. Such approach frequently fails due to the initial bias of class definition uncertainty.

Segmentation System of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) Subtypes on Microscopic Blood Smear Image [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Leukemia is a blood cancer that attacks human white blood cells. This disease is divided into four types, including Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). AML is the most common type of acute leukemia, and it has eight types of subtypes distinguished by the level

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.
