Metabolome Diversity Enhances Resistance of Intertidal Clams to Thermal Stress

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, EarlyView.
Meretrix species are widely distributed intertidal bivalves in China with significant ecological and economic importance, which are sensitive to thermal stress. Our results showed that thermal environments of clam habitats shaped metabolome diversity, which can enhance the resistance of intertidal clams to thermal stress.

Unmet Needs in Treatment Escalation for Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria: Findings From the CURE Registry

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
Appropriate treatment escalation improves CSU disease control. However, only about a quarter of patients achieve a complete response, the main goal of CSU treatment. Approximately one‐third of patients clinically eligible for escalation (UCT < 12) do not receive guideline‐recommended treatment escalation and remain symptomatic on their current ...

Leukotrienes and leukotriene modifiers in pediatric allergic diseases

open access: yes, 2014
Leukotrienes are potent pro-inflammatory lipid mediators derived from arachidonic acid through several enzymatic pathways. They have an essential role in allergic inflammation, where they induce bronchoconstriction, airway edema, and chemotaxis of the ...

Novel Bispecific Engagers Targeting the CεmX Domain of mIgE‐Expressing Cells

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
We developed bispecific TCE & NKCE targeting the CεmX domain of mIgE to eliminate IgE‐producing cells. Both constructs demonstrated potent, specific, dose‐dependent cytotoxicity and selective immune activation in vitro. These results highlight their promise as off‐the‐shelf, potentially curative therapeutics for IgE‐associated allergic diseases ...

The problem of preschool wheeze: new developments, new questions

open access: yesActa Medica Lituanica, 2010
Preschool wheeze is a common and often difficult to treat symptom. It may rarely be the first presentation of a severe underlying condition. Preschool wheeze is clearly a syndrome, not a single entity, and thus ripe for phenotyping.

Cysteinyl Leukotriene Receptor-1 Antagonists as Modulators of Innate Immune Cell Function

open access: yesJournal of Immunology Research, 2014
Cysteinyl leukotrienes (cysLTs) are produced predominantly by cells of the innate immune system, especially basophils, eosinophils, mast cells, and monocytes/macrophages. Notwithstanding potent bronchoconstrictor activity, cysLTs are also proinflammatory
