Phylogenetic and biochemical analyses of the heme transporter CydDC reveal its functional conservation throughout bacterial evolution and demonstrate its unique asymmetric allosteric mechanism. Furthermore, impairment of CydDC function directly affects bacterial antibiotic resistance and likely compromises antibiotic efficacy through drug efflux.

ABSTRACT The presence of antibiotics in water not only causes environmental pollution but also increases the growth of antibiotic‐resistant bacterial genes, which pose serious threats to human beings and other water residents. Large numbers of people are reportedly affected by the resistant bacterial genes, as many broad‐spectrum antibiotics are not ...

This study firstly isolated a tuna‐derived gut probiotic Acinetobacter seifertii YFT067. Dietary administration of YFT067 played significant roles in promoting growth performance, SCFAs production, lipid absorption, and metabolism of the host, indicating YFT067 as a promising probiotic candidate for enhancing tuna aquaculture productivity through ...

The Effects of Levofloxacin on Testis Tissue and Spermatogenesis in Rat
Levofloxacin is one of the Fluroquinoline antibiotic groups, which affect on controlling infections, especially in reproductive organs. It has therapeutic use in numerous countries, but little information exists on the effects of Levofloxacin on ...

Levofloxacin is a widely used antibiotic included in rifampicin‐resistant tuberculosis (RR‐TB) treatment. Data describing levofloxacin concentrations in breastmilk and infant exposure are limited. We analysed data from two South African studies of breastfeeding women receiving levofloxacin (750–1000 mg daily) for RR‐TB.

Advancing design strategies in smart stimulus‐responsive liposomes for drug release and nanomedicine
Schematic illustration of stimulus‐responsive liposomes designed for controlled drug release and nanomedicine. The innermost circle represents different liposomal structures, including unilamellar, multilamellar, and multivesicular liposomes. The middle layer illustrates the responsive phospholipid components.

Stenotrophomonas maltophilia: An Emerging Pathogen in Paediatric Population [PDF]
Introduction: Stenotrophomonas maltophilia (formerly Pseudomonas maltophilia/Xanthomonas maltophilia), a Gram- negative, non-fermenting bacillus, is being increasingly recognized as a threatening nosocomial pathogen, associated with significant ...
