Comparison of the Average Lift Coefficient ͞CL and Normalized Lift ͞ηL for Evaluating Hovering and Forward Flapping Flight

open access: yes, 2016
The capability of flapping wings to generate lift is currently evaluated by using the lift coefficient C ¯ L , a dimensionless number that is derived from the basal equation that calculates the steady-state lift coefficient CL for fixed wings.

Aerodynamic Forces Acting on a Race Car for Various Ground Clearances and Rake Angles

open access: yesJournal of Applied Fluid Mechanics, 2019
Computational model was developed to investigate aerodynamic forces acting on a closed-wheel race car. A particular focus was on the effects of ground clearance and rake angle on aerodynamic drag and lift forces.

Aerodynamic Characterization of Bullet Heads with Different Arcuate Curves [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Fluid Mechanics
The bullet shape is critical in efficient bullet design because it affects the lift and drag forces. This paper proposes a new bullet shape with a logarithmic curve and analyzes the lift and drag coefficients of bullets with different curves under ...

Prediction of Lift Coefficient for Tandem Wing Configuration or Multiple-Lifting-Surface System Using Prandtl’s Lifting-Line Theory [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Aerospace Engineering, 2018
In tandem airfoil configuration or multiple-lifting-surface layouts, due to the flow interaction among their lifting surfaces, the aerodynamic characteristics can be affected by each other. In accordance with Prandtl’s classical lifting-line theory, a method to calculate the section lift coefficient for the tandem wing configuration or multiple-lifting-

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Study of board bending degree on hydrodynamic performances of a single-layer cambered otter-board [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2019
The effect of board bending degree on hydrodynamic performances of a single-layer cambered otter-board was investigated using engineering models in a wind tunnel. Three different bending degree boards were evaluated at a wind speed of 28 m/s.

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Effect of bevel angle of three-layer parallel plate on hydrodynamic performances of otter-board

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2017
The effect of bevel angle of three-layer parallel plate of otter-board on hydrodynamic performances is investigated by model wind tunnel test. Four otter-board models are designed with four different bevel angles (8°, 10°, 12° and 14°) , and tested under

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in
