Celtis africana (N. L. Burm.) Modulates Glucose Homeostasis and Mitigates Cardiac Tissue Oxidative Injury: Insights From an Ex Vivo Study

Celtis africana leaves extracted with different solvents are subjected to chemical analysis, and the metabolites detected dock with lipid and carbohydrate digestive enzymes. The extracts are also tested for modulation of glucose uptake and absorption in the muscles, liver, and intestine, with further evaluation of their in vitro antioxidant bioactivity.
