Air‐oxidized linalyl acetate – an emerging fragrance allergen?
Contact Dermatitis, 2015SummaryBackgroundLinalyl acetate is a fragrance chemical that is prone to autoxidation. Exposure to linalyl acetate occurs through cosmetic products and essential oils, but is difficult to assess, as linalyl acetate is not labelled in the EU.ObjectiveTo investigate the frequencies of contact allergy to oxidized linalyl acetate among dermatitis patients,

Hydrolysis of linalyl acetate and α-terpinyl acetate by yeasts
Biotechnology Letters, 1998Of 104 yeasts tested for the hydrolysis of rac-linalyl acetate and rac-α-terpinyl acetate twelve hydrolysed rac-linalyl acetate. Five of these belonged to five different species of Geotrichum. The most promising strain, Geotrichum capitatum CBS 0572.82, yielded (S)-linalool in 56% enantiomeric excess after 6h (E value ∼5, c = 32%).

Reaction of SeO2 with dienes: 1. Linalyl acetate
Tetrahedron, 1989Abstract The reaction of linalyl acetate with SeO2 in alcoholic media affords some selenium containing substances, among the usual allylic oxidation products. The structural determination of products and a proposal for the reaction mechanism are discussed.

Hydrogenation of dehydrolinalool and dehydrolinalyl acetate on 0.5% Pd/Al2O3 in C2–C5 alcohols of various structure has been studied at atmospheric and higher pressures of hydrogen. It is shown that the differences in selectivity of hydrogenation of dehydrolinalool to linalool and of dehydrolinalyl acetate to linalyl acetate is due to peculiarities in ...

Cyanidation products of organoboranes derived from linalyl acetate
Australian Journal of Chemistry, 1981The seven-membered cyclic borane obtained from the reaction of linalyl acetate and thexylborane loses 2,3-dimethylbut-2-ene, and the resulting dialkylborane gives an alcohol on treatment with sodium cyanide, followed by trifluoroacetic anhydride and oxidation. The structure is confirmed by synthesis. The generality of this reaction was investigated but,

Flavor Encapsulation by Spray Drying: Application to Citral and Linalyl Acetate
Journal of Food Science, 1992ABSTRACT Leaflash spray drying technique was used to encapsulate a mixture of two volatile products, citral and linalyl acetate in the proportion of 80:20 (w/w). The support materials were gum arabic and maltodextrin in different proportions.

Novel Carboxyl Esterase Preparations for the Resolution of Linalyl Acetate
Monatshefte fuer Chemie/Chemical Monthly, 2000Biocatalytic resolution of the tertiary terpene alcohol (±)-linalool was accomplished via hydrolysis of its corresponding acetate ester using two highly enantiospecific enzymes (E > 100). The latter were identified in a crude cell-free extract of Rhodococcus ruber DSM 43338 and could be separated by (partial) protein purification.
