The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

A New Proximal Iteratively Reweighted Nuclear Norm Method for Nonconvex Nonsmooth Optimization Problems

open access: yesMathematics
This paper proposes a new proximal iteratively reweighted nuclear norm method for a class of nonconvex and nonsmooth optimization problems. The primary contribution of this work is the incorporation of line search technique based on dimensionality ...

The Search for Million Degree Gas Through The NVII Hyperfine Line

open access: yes, 2007
Gas in the million degree range occurs in a variety of astronomical environments, and it may be the main component of the elusive missing baryons at low redshift.

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Relay UAV motion control method for airborne multi-agent systems

open access: yes工程科学学报
Compared to single-agent systems, multi-agent systems exhibit advantages such as high efficiency and strong survivability in task execution. However, an increase in distance increases the difficulty for agents to communicate with each other and also ...

Group Search on the Line [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In this paper we consider the group search problem, or evacu- ation problem, in which k mobile entities (\({\cal M}{\cal E}\)s) located on the line perform search for a specific destination. The \({\cal M}{\cal E}\)s are initially placed at the same origin on the line L and the target is located at an unknown distance d, either to the left or to the ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

A 4D-EnKF Method via a Modified Cholesky Decomposition and Line Search Optimization for Non-Linear Data Assimilation

open access: yesAtmosphere
This paper introduces an efficient approach for implementing the Four-Dimensional Variational Ensemble Kalman Filter (4D-EnKF) for non-linear data assimilation, leveraging a modified Cholesky decomposition (4D-EnKF-MC).
