Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

On a Schrödinger Equation in the Complex Space Variable

open access: yesAppliedMath
We study a separable Hilbert space of smooth curves taking values in the Segal–Bergmann space of analytic functions in the complex plane, and two of its subspaces that are the domains of unbounded non self-adjoint linear partial differential operators of

Compact Linear Combination of Composition Operators on Bergman Spaces

open access: yesJournal of Research in Applied Mathematics
Motivated by the question of Shapiro and Sundberg raised in 1990, study on linear combinations of composition operators has been a topic of growing interest. In this paper, we completely characterize the compactness of any finite linear combination of composition operators with general symbols on the weighted Bergman spaces in two classical terms: one ...

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

The Interpolative Ideal of Bloch Mappings

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces
Inspired by the interpolative ideal procedure for linear operators due to Matter, the concept of interpolative ideals of a Banach normalized Bloch ideal IB∧ is introduced.

CDK11 inhibition induces cytoplasmic p21WAF1 splice variant by p53 stabilisation and SF3B1 inactivation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.

Reduced vascular leakage correlates with breast carcinoma T regulatory cell infiltration but not with metastatic propensity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A mouse model for vascular normalization and a human breast cancer cohort were studied to understand the relationship between vascular leakage and tumor immune suppression. For this, endothelial and immune cell RNAseq, staining for vascular function, and immune cell profiling were employed.

Resolvent Compositions for Positive Linear Operators

open access: yes
Resolvent compositions were recently introduced as monotonicity-preserving operations that combine a set-valued monotone operator and a bounded linear operator. They generalize in particular the notion of a resolvent average. We analyze the resolvent compositions when the monotone operator is a strictly positive linear operator.
