Oxidative Stability of Conjugated Linolenic Acids
Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2009Interest in conjugated linolenic acid (CLnA) and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) as functional lipids is growing. The present study was (i) to study the oxidative stability of individual CLnA isomers and (ii) to compare the oxidative stabilities of CLnA and CLA with their corresponding nonconjugated counterparts, α-linolenic acid (LN) and linoleic acid (

Conjugated linolenic acids and their bioactivities: a review
Food & Function, 2014Conjugated linolenic acid (CLNA) is a mixture of positional and geometric isomers of octadecatrienoic acid (α-linolenic acid, cis9,cis12,cis15-18:3 n-3) found in plant seeds. Three 8,10,12-18:3 isomers and four 9,11,13-18:3 isomers have been reported to occur naturally.

Effect of UV-A on the Linolenic Acid Micelles
Radiation Research, 1993UV-A produced a dose-dependent linear increase of peroxidation in linolenic acid micelles as detected by the assay of (i) conjugated dienes, (ii) hydroperoxides, (iii) malondialdehyde (MDA), and (iv) the fluorescent adduct formed by the reaction of MDA with the amino acid, glycine.

Conjugated Linolenic Acids: Implication in Cancer
Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2019Conjugated fatty acids (CFAs) including both conjugated linoleic acids (CLAs) and conjugated linolenic acids (CLNAs) have various health promoting effects. These beneficial effects are comprised by their antioxidant, antiatherogenecity, anticarcinogenic activities, etc. Several reports indicate that CLNAs such as eleostearic acid, punicic acid, jacaric

Reinvestigation of lipid peroxidation of linolenic acid
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Lipids and Lipid Metabolism, 1994Recently, we deduced a mechanism for lipid peroxidation of linoleic acid [1]. This mechanism was now applied to predict the occurrence of previously unknown lipid peroxidation products of linolenic acid. The proposed structures of peroxidation products allowed to search for these predicted compounds in reaction mixtures with the aid of 'ion trace' by ...

The occurrence of γ-linolenic acid in fungi
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Lipids and Lipid Metabolism, 1965Abstract 1. 1. The fatty acids from fat extracted from 31 species of fungi artificially cultured on fat-free media have been analysed by gas-liquid chromatography. 2. 2. One or more examples were taken from four orders of phycomycetes, seven orders of ascomycetes and five orders of basidiomycetes.
