Combining Photocatalytic Oxidation of β‐Chlorohydrins with Carbonyl Bioreduction in a Deracemization Approach

open access: yesChemSusChem, EarlyView.
The oxidation of β‐chlorohydrins is thermodynamically unfavourable. To solve this, different photocatalytic systems are explored under white light irradiation. Best results are achieved using 2,3‐dichloro‐5,6‐dicyano‐1,4‐benzoquinone in stochiometric or catalytic loadings including tert‐butyl nitrite/O2 as regeneration system.

Measurement of two plasma triglyceride lipases by an immunochemical method: studies in patients with hypertriglyceridemia

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1976
Postheparin plasma lipolytic activity consists of two hydrolytic activities, hepatic triglyceride lipase and lipoprotein lipase. These two enzymes were separated and partially purified by means of ammonium sulfate precipitation and affinity ...

Chemically recyclable polyester thermosets from activated adipic acid and renewable polyols

open access: yesChemSusChem, Accepted Article.
This study outlines a method for producing chemically recyclable crosslinked polyesters using renewable polyols – glycerol and sorbitol – combined with adipic acid (AA), which is transformed/activated into a polyanhydride mixture prior to use. A three‐step procedure was designed: i) an acid‐catalyzed reaction of AA with non‐toxic isopropenyl acetate or

Investigations into the characterization, degradation, and applications of biodegradable polymers by mass spectrometry

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract Biodegradable polymers have been getting more and more attention because of their contribution to the plastic pollution environmental issues and to move towards a circular economy. Nevertheless, biodegradable materials still exhibit various disadvantages restraining a widespread use in the market.

Hepatic triacylglycerol lipase activities after induction of diabetes and administration of insulin or glucagon.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1982
Triacylglycerol lipase activities of homogenates and subcellular fractions of rat liver were measured under optimal conditions at pH 7.5 using emulsified tri[1-14C]oleoylglycerol as substrate.

Advanced Imaging and Cytometric Techniques to Characterize Lipid Accumulation in Wolman Disease

open access: yesCytometry Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Wolman disease (WD) is a severe lysosomal storage disorder characterized by fatal lipid accumulation caused by the deficiency of a lipid metabolic enzyme, Lysosomal Acid Lipase (LAL), involved in the lysosomal hydrolysis of cholesterols and triglycerides.

The endocannabinoid system regulates both ependymoglial and neuronal cell responses to a tail amputation in the axolotl

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The endocannabinoid system is a neuromodulatory system implicated in cellular processes during both development and regeneration. The Mexican axolotl, one of only a few vertebrates capable of central nervous system regeneration, was used to examine the role of the endocannabinoid system in the regeneration of the tail and spinal ...
