Ganoderma lucidum Spore Powder Alleviates Metabolic-Associated Fatty Liver Disease by Improving Lipid Accumulation and Oxidative Stress via Autophagy

open access: yesAntioxidants
Lipid accumulation and oxidative stress, which could be improved by autophagy, are the “hits” of metabolic-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD). Ganoderma lucidum spore powder (GLSP) has the effect of improving liver function.

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Clusterin deficiency induces lipid accumulation and tissue damage in kidney

open access: yes, 2018
Clusterin is a secretory glycoprotein that is involved in multiple physiopathological processes, including lipid metabolism. Previous studies have shown that clusterin prevents hepatic lipid accumulation via suppression of sterol regulatory element ...

Golgi condensation causes intestinal lipid accumulation through HIF-1α-mediated GM130 ubiquitination by NEDD4

open access: yesExperimental and Molecular Medicine
The breakdown of Golgi proteins disrupts lipid trafficking, leading to lipid accumulation in the small intestine. However, the causal mechanism of the effects of Golgi protein degradation on the Golgi structure related to lipid trafficking in the small ...

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Evaluating the effect of acetic acid, furfural and catechol on the growth and lipid accumulation of Trichosporon fermentans by response surface methodology

open access: yes, 2012
The effect of combination of acetic acid, furfural and catechol on the growth and lipid accumulation of oleaginous yeast Trichosporon fermentans was systematically studied by response surface methodology (RSM).

Estradiol Determine Liver Lipid Deposition in Ratsfed Standard Diets Unbalanced with Excess Lipid or Protein

open access: yes, 2020
The ingestion of excess fat often produces an increased body weight, because of higher adiposity and accumulation of fat in the liver. However, modulation of diet energy partition may affect differently the body metabolic responses and the extent of ...
