Multifunctional Hydroxyapatite Coated with Gallium Liquid Metal‐Based Silver Nanoparticles for Infection Prevention and Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A multifunctional hydroxyapatite (HAp) coating integrated with silver‐gallium liquid metal nanoparticles (HAp‐Ag‐GaNPs) exhibits dual antibacterial and osteogenic properties. It effectively inhibits Gram‐positive and Gram‐negative bacteria, including resistant strains, while enhancing bone regeneration.

Heterogeneity of Rhizobium lipopolysaccharides [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Bacteriology, 1984
The lipopolysaccharides ( LPSs ) from strains of Rhizobium leguminosarum, Rhizobium trifolii, and Rhizobium phaseoli were isolated and partially characterized by mild acid hydrolysis and by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Mild acid hydrolysis results in a precipitate which can be removed by centrifugation or extraction with chloroform.

Distribution of endotoxin (lipopolysaccharide) in the tissues of lipopolysaccharide-responsive and -unresponsive mice [PDF]

open access: yesInfection and Immunity, 1978
We examined the distribution of bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS) in LPS-responsive (C3H/St) and LPS-unresponsive (C3H/HeJ) mice. The results reported here demonstrate that the rates of removal of an immunological or a toxic dose of LPS from the circulation are the same in both strains of mice.

Bacteria‐Derived Extracellular Vesicle as A “Trojan Horse” for Selective M1 Macrophage‐Targeting in A Multi‐Cellular Entanglement Environment

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The temporary transition of macrophages from a pro‐inflammatory phenotype of macrophages (M1) to an anti‐inflammatory phenotype of macrophages (M2) is crucial for tissue repair and regeneration processes. Bacterial outer membrane vesicles (OMVs) are utilized as a “trojan horse” for specific M1 macrophage‐targeting and anti‐inflammatory drug delivery ...

Lipopolysaccharide Binding Protein-mediated Complexation of Lipopolysaccharide with Soluble CD14 [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1995
Endotoxin (lipopolysaccharide; LPS) activates a wide variety of host defense mechanisms. In mammals LPS binding protein (LBP) and CD14 interact with LPS to mediate cellular activation. Using sucrose density gradients and a fluorescent endotoxin derivative we have investigated the mechanism of LPS binding to LBP and the soluble form of CD14 (sCD14). LPS

Double Cross‐Linked Hydrogel for Intra‐articular Injection as Modality for Macrophages Metabolic Reprogramming and Therapy of Rheumatoid Arthritis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A hydrogel for intra‐articular injection for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is formulated and comprehensively studied. After administration, the hydrogel induces a metabolic reprogramming of immunometabolism of macrophages to trigger fatty acid oxidation subsequently inducing polarization of anti‐inflammatory M2 macrophages. This results in

LPS Induces Preeclampsia-Like Phenotype in Rats and HTR8/SVneo Cells Dysfunction Through TLR4/p38 MAPK Pathway

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2019
Accumulating evidence has shown that preeclampsia (PE) was associated with an aberrant maternal-fetal inflammatory response. In the present study, we first found that in human PE placentas levels of toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4), phosphorylated p38 mitogen-

Nanocurcumine Ameliorates Lipopolysaccharide-induced Depressive-like Behavior in Mice [PDF]

open access: yesNanomedicine Research Journal, 2018
Objective(s): Curcumin, a plant alkaloid from Curcuma longa, possess antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Recently, the antidepressant activities of curcumin were reported. Nevertheless, bioavailability of curcumin limits its therapeutic utility.

Nanofillers Reinforcing Biopolymer Composites for Sustainable Food Packaging Applications: A State‐of‐the‐Art Review

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Biopolymers are sustainable, biodegradable alternatives to petroleum‐based plastics for food packaging. Its adoption is often limited by poor mechanical strength, barrier properties, and improved thermal stability through the incorporation of nanofillers.

Phosphodiesterase 4B is essential for lipopolysaccharide-induced CC chemokine ligand 3 production in mouse macrophages

open access: yesJournal of Medical Sciences, 2015
Background: Phosphodiesterase 4 (PDE4) inhibitors negatively modulate many inflammatory responses, and some of these pharmacological effects are mediated by inhibition of PDE4B in inflammatory cells.
