Metabolism of molecular species of phosphatidylethanolamine and phosphatidylcholine in rat hepatocytes during prolonged inhibition of phosphatidylethanolamine N-methyltransferase.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1993
The metabolism of the molecular species of phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) and phosphatidylcholine (PC) derived from [3H]ethanolamine has been studied in rat hepatocytes during prolonged inhibition of phosphatidylethanolamine-N-methyltransferase (PEMT ...

Plasma proteome correlates of lipid and lipoprotein: biomarkers of metabolic diversity and inflammation in children of rural Nepal. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Proteins involved in lipoprotein metabolism can modulate cardiovascular health. While often measured to assess adult metabolic diseases, little is known about the proteomes of lipoproteins and their relation to metabolic dysregulation and underlying ...

Determinants of HDL Cholesterol Efflux Capacity after Virgin Olive Oil Ingestion: Interrelationships with Fluidity of HDL Monolayer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Scope: Cholesterol efflux capacity of HDL (CEC) is inversely associated with cardiovascular risk. HDL composition, fluidity, oxidation, and size are related with CEC.

Affinity‐Based Isolation and One‐Pot Analysis of Extracellular Vesicles from Biofluids Using Phase Separated Zwitterionic Coacervates

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a novel method for affinity‐based isolation and analysis of extracellular vesicles from biofluids using phase‐separated zwitterionic coacervates functionalized with a membrane‐sensing peptide. This technology minimizes nonspecific binding, enabling high‐yield isolation and direct one‐pot biomarker profiling.

Monomethylethanolamine reduces plasma triacylglycerols and apolipoprotein B and increases apolipoprotein A-I rats without induction of fatty liver

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1996
Monomethylethanolamine (MME) inhibits very low density lipoprotein (VLDL) secretion from cultured rat hepatocytes by disruption of translocation of apolipoprotein (apo) B across the endoplasmic reticulum membrane (A. E. Rusiñol, E. Y. W. Chan and J.

Recombinant gamma interferon induces hypertriglyceridemia and inhibits post-heparin lipase activity in cancer patients. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1986
Animals suffering from malignancy or chronic infection develop characteristic metabolic abnormalities, including a well-defined hypertriglyceridemic state.

Structured functional regression models for high-dimensional spatial spectroscopy data [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2013
Modeling and analysis of spectroscopy data is an active area of research with applications to chemistry and biology. This paper focuses on analyzing Raman spectra obtained from a bone fracture healing experiment, although the functional regression model for predicting a scalar response from high-dimensional tensors can be applied to any spectroscopy ...

Low density lipoprotein undergoes oxidative modification in vivo.

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, 1989
It has been proposed that low density lipoprotein (LDL) must undergo oxidative modification before it can give rise to foam cells, the key component of the fatty streak lesion of atherosclerosis.

Coordinated Role of Autophagy and ERAD in Maintaining Neuroendocrine Function by Preventing Prohormone Aggregation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
By studying the maturation mechanisms of vasopressin (AVP), this manuscript identifies FAM134B‐mediated ER‐phagy as a critical pathway for degrading both aggregated proAVP and the key ERAD component, HRD1. HRD1 induction mitigates proAVP aggregation and support AVP neuron function in the absence of autophagy.

Protein polymorphism of a human plasma apolipoprotein D antigenic epitope.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1989
Based on our previous observation that monoclonal antibody anti-apoD-4E11 reacted with several HDL proteins we studied them further with three questions in mind: i) is there common protein polymorphism in healthy individuals?
