Modulation of Neutrophil Apoptosis and the Resolution of Inflammation through β2 Integrins

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2013
Precise control of the neutrophil death program provides a balance between their defence functions and safe clearance, whereas impaired regulation of neutrophil death is thought to contribute to a wide range of inflammatory pathologies.

Association of SPHK1 polymorphisms with Alzheimer's disease susceptibility: Functional impact of the rs2247856 SNP on transcriptional efficiency

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia: Translational Research &Clinical Interventions, Volume 12, Issue 3, July/September 2026.
Abstract INTRODUCTION Sphingosine kinase 1 (SPHK1) has been implicated in the regulation of pro‐resolving lipid mediators relevant to neuroinflammation in Alzheimer's disease (AD). However, no studies have evaluated the genetic association between SPHK1 polymorphisms and AD susceptibility.

Effect of Lipoxin A4 on bleomycin induced cytotoxicity in IMR-32 cells.

open access: yes, 2014
(A) Effect of pre-treatment with different doses (1, 5, 10 ng/ml) of lipoxin A4 on bleomycin (60 µg/ml) induced cytotoxicity to IMR-32 cells. Cells were pre incubated with lipoxin A4 for 5 hrs and then bleomycin for 24 hrs. MTT assay was performed.

Endogenous lipid- and peptide-derived anti-inflammatory pathways generated with glucocorticoid and aspirin treatment activate the lipoxin A4 receptor

open access: yes, 2002
Aspirin (ASA) and dexamethasone (DEX) are widely used anti-inflammatory agents yet their mechanism(s) for blocking polymorphonuclear neutrophil (PMN) accumulation at sites of inflammation remains unclear.

Omega‐3 DHA as a blank canvas: A molecular approximation to how lipid mediators modulate LGR6 in inflammation resolution

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 35, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract The leucine‐rich repeat‐containing G protein‐coupled receptor 6 (LGR6) has a potential role in inflammation resolution and different cancer processes. In this study, we employed computational techniques, including molecular docking and molecular dynamics simulations of mammalian membrane‐embeded systems, to understand the activation mechanism ...

Distinct Roles of Myeloid‐ and Hepatocyte‐PLA2G6 Deletion in Mice With Metabolic Dysfunction‐Associated Steatotic Liver Disease

open access: yesLiver International, Volume 46, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Polymorphisms of group VIA calcium‐independent phospholipase A2 (iPLA2β or PLA2G6) are associated with Type‐2 diabetes, blood lipids and inflammation. Global deficiency in iPLA2β‐null mice elicited protection against hepatic steatosis but not hepatic inflammation after high‐fat diet (HFD) feeding.
