Amomum is a diverse genus whose metabolites are dominated by volatile compounds; however, differences in metabolism levels between fresh and dried fruits remain unclear. Chagas disease, caused by Trypanosoma cruzi, is a neglected tropical disease (NTD) that can lead to severe cardiac complications, including chronic Chagas cardiomyopathy.
