Growth of Molds on Cheese Treated with Heat or Liquid Smoke

open access: yesJournal of Food Protection, 1993
Liquid smoke and heat treatments were evaluated for their potential use to inhibit growth of Aspergillus oryzae , Penicillium camemberti , and Penicillium roqueforti on Cheddar cheese. A. oryzae had a longer lag period and P. roqueforti grew faster radially on cheese heated at 42°C for 1 h than on unheated cheese. Mold growth on cheese heated at 24 and

Co1/Ru Single‐Atom Alloy Catalyst for Sustainable Polypropylene Hydrogenolysis to Long‐Chain Liquid Products

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A titania‐supported Co1/Ru single‐atom alloy catalyst enables efficient polypropylene hydrogenolysis. Ru─Co─Ru motifs maintain Ru activity while suppressing excessive chain scission to gaseous products. Both virgin and waste plastics achieve high, environmentally and economically optimal C11+ liquid yields, supporting sustainable chemical recycling ...

Facet‐Specific PbS Quantum Dot Passivation Using Halide Perovskites for SWIR Photodetectors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
PbS quantum dots (QDs) are emerging as powerful short‐wave infrared photodetectors, yet the passivation mechanism of large QDs by perovskites ‐ critical for their stability ‐ remains unexplained. Here, we unveil the ligand structure of CH3NH3PbI3 (MAPI)‐passivated 4‐nm PbS QDs using FTIR, XPS, SEM, NMR, and DFT.

Benchmarking Coaxial and Angular Optical Emission Spectroscopy With Recommendations for Reliable Compositional In Situ Monitoring During Laser Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Real‐time insight into local chemistry is critical for reliable part quality in additive manufacturing, especially laser powder bed fusion (PBF‑LB/M), where rapid thermal cycles and localized evaporation can undermine part performance. Optical emission spectroscopy (OES) offers non‑intrusive, in situ plume monitoring, but detection geometry ...

Quality Identification Of Liquid Smoke Result Of Pyrolysis Empty Fruit Bunches Waste

open access: yesJurnal Agroqua, 2018
One application of clean production in the oil palm industry is the processing of solid waste such as empty fruit bunches (EFB) into liquid smoke. This research tried to do pyrolysis of EFB followed by redestilation process produce liquid smoke.

3D Printed Omniphobic Slippery Liquid Infused Porous Surfaces for Low Surface Tension Repellency

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A 3D printing strategy fabricates omniphobic slippery liquid‐infused porous structures with lubricant reservoirs and interconnected microchannels. A post‐printing surface treatment modifies the porous surface to ensure compatibility with the infused fluorinated lubricant.

Solid Particle‐Liquid Metal Mixtures for Robust High‐Current Interconnects in Stretchable Electronics and Soft Robotics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Metallic microparticles dispersed in liquid metal interconnects mitigate electromigration‐induced failure by reconfiguring internal current density distributions. These fillers facilitate the growth of a robust, protective gallium oxide shell at elevated temperatures, shifting the failure threshold toward a thermal limit.

Behavior of Listeria spp. in Smoked Fish Products Affected by Liquid Smoke, NaCI Concentration, and Temperature

open access: yesJournal of Food Protection, 1998
The growth, survival, and death of Listeria monocytogenes were studied in a synthetic medium as a function of temperature, NaCl content, and amount of liquid smoke, and the findings were validated in smoked fish products. The smoke preservative compound was simulated by adding liquid smoke, and the concentration was expressed as phenol concentration ...

Zinc Exposure Causes Disulfidptosis to Induce Miscarriage by Up‐Regulating GATA1/METTL1/SLC7A11 Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Zn exposure up‐regulates GATA1, promoting GATA1‐mediated METTL1 and SLC7A11 transcription. It also enhances METTL1‐mediated m7G modification on SLC7A11 mRNA, increasing SLC7A11 mRNA stability. Ultimately, Zn exposure up‐regulates SLC7A11 at both transcriptional and post‐transcriptional levels, causing disulfidptosis. Knockdown of murine Slc7a11, Gata1,

The concentration and type of liquid smoke to suppress the development of Elsinoe fawcettii causing scab on citrus plant of Japansche citroen [PDF]

open access: yesBiotika, 2018
Citrus is the main fruit commodity in Indonesia. Scab disease is a major disease in citrus plants. Scab disease control usually uses chemical fungicides that cause environmental pollution. Liquid smoke is a natural substance as a safer fungicide.
