Immunoproteasome and LMP2 polymorphism in aged and Alzheimer's disease brains

open access: yesNeurobiology of Aging, 2006
In this study, we investigated the presence and role of immunoproteasome and its LMP2 subunit polymorphism at codon 60 in Alzheimer's disease (AD). Immunoproteasome was present in brain areas such as hippocampus and cerebellum and localized in neurons, astrocytes and endothelial cells.

A lipid-based LMP2-mRNA vaccine to treat nasopharyngeal carcinoma

open access: yesNano Research, 2023
Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is a serious and highly invasive epithelial malignancy that is closely associated with Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). Due to the lack of therapeutic vaccines for NPC, we selected EBV latent membrane protein 2 (LMP2) as a preferable targeting antigen to develop a lipid-based LMP2-mRNA (mLMP2) vaccine.

LMP2 immunoproteasome promotes lymphocyte survival by degrading apoptotic BH3‐only proteins

open access: yesImmunology and Cell Biology, 2018
The role of the immunoproteasome is perceived as confined to adaptive immune responses given its ability to produce peptides ideal for MHC Class-I binding.

Potential role of LMP2 as an anti‐oncogenic factor in human uterine leiomyosarcoma: Morphological significance of calponin h1 [PDF]

open access: yesFEBS Letters, 2012
Uterine leiomyosarcoma (LMS) is a highly metastatic smooth muscle neoplasm for which calponin h1 is suspected to have a biological role as a tumor-suppressor.

Association of an LMP2 Polymorphism with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and Multiple Myeloma

open access: yesAsian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention, 2013
Hematological malignancies (HM) are a group of neoplasms derived from the cells of the bone marrow and lymphatic system. Genetic factors leading to susceptibility to HM have been investigated for years but little is known yet. Low molecular weight polypeptide (LMP) 2 and LMP7 genes are important subunits of the immunoproteasome and play significant ...
