Domain associated with zinc fingers‐containing NF90‐NF45 complex inhibits m6A modification of primary microRNA by suppressing METTL3/14 activity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
NF90–NF45 functions as a negative regulator of methyltransferase‐like 3/14 (METTL3/14)‐mediated N6‐methyladenosine (m6A) modification on primary microRNAs (pri‐miRNAs). NF90–NF45 binds to anti‐oncogenic pri‐miRNAs and inhibits their m6A modification, thereby suppressing the biogenesis of anti‐oncogenic miRNAs.

Differential regulation of ZFAS1 splice variants by endoplasmic reticulum stress in hepatocyte cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ZFAS1 is a lncRNA promoting cell proliferation and migration, exhibiting high expression in various cancers. It is conserved, widely expressed, and produces multiple splice variants with unclear roles. We identified several splice variants in hepatocyte models, and found that inhibiting or suppressing regulators of the unfolded protein response (PERK ...

Genome-wide computational analysis of potential long noncoding RNA mediated DNA:DNA:RNA triplexes in the human genome

open access: yesJournal of Translational Medicine, 2017
Background Only a handful of long noncoding RNAs have been functionally characterized. They are known to modulate regulation through interacting with other biomolecules in the cell: DNA, RNA and protein.

Bone Healing Around Implants in Normal and Medically Compromised Conditions: Osteoporosis and Diabetes

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
xx xx. ABSTRACT Osseointegration of orthopedic and dental implants is influenced by local and systemic factors, including their physicochemical surface properties and the patient's overall health status. Titanium and its alloys have been a longstanding standard for bone implants due to their innate biocompatibility and mechanical properties.

A Bipartite Network-based Method for Prediction of Long Non-coding RNA–protein Interactions

open access: yesGenomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics, 2016
As one large class of non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs), long ncRNAs (lncRNAs) have gained considerable attention in recent years. Mutations and dysfunction of lncRNAs have been implicated in human disorders.

Mapping the Cerebral Organoid Landscape: A Systematic Review of Preclinical 3D Models in Neuroscience

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Cerebral organoids are transforming brain research, yet the field remains fragmented. This comprehensive systematic review maps 738 studies published between 2014 and 2024 to uncover trends, gaps, and opportunities across neuroscience. Introducing OrganoidMap—an interactive, open‐access platform to explore and compare models—this work enables ...

LncRNA CRNDE inhibits cardiomyocytes apoptosis by YAP1 in myocardial ischaemia/reperfusion injury

open access: yesAutoimmunity, 2021
Background Cardiomyocytes apoptosis is the basic pathological process of myocardial ischaemia/reperfusion (MI/R) injury, so inhibiting apoptosis of cardiomyocytes can effectively improve MI/R injury.

Cancer‐Associated Fibroblasts Functions as Multifunctional Architects of the Tumor Stroma and Represent Emerging Therapeutic Vulnerabilities

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) are the predominant stromal components within the tumor microenvironment (TME), playing multifaceted roles in cancer progression through dynamic interactions with neoplastic and immune cells. Emerging evidence has revealed remarkable heterogeneity and plasticity of CAFs, which originate from diverse ...

The long non-coding RNA GAS5 cooperates with the eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E to regulate c-Myc translation. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are important regulators of transcription; however, their involvement in protein translation is not well known. Here we explored whether the lncRNA GAS5 is associated with translation initiation machinery and regulates ...

BGN/MDK Axis in the Melanoma Tumor Microenvironment Strengthens Tumor Malignancy by Modulating Cancer Cells and Cancer‐Associated Fibroblasts Crosstalk

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that m6A regulators cooperatively upregulate BGN in melanoma, promoting malignancy. Within the tumor microenvironment, CAFs show highest BGN expression. The BGN/MDK axis mediates cancer‐stroma crosstalk, driving normal fibroblast (NF) activation and enhancing the pro‐tumor effect of CAFs, highlighting a promising therapeutic target ...
