A macrophage-specific lncRNA regulates apoptosis and atherosclerosis by tethering HuR in the nucleus

open access: yesNature Communications, 2020
Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are emerging regulators of pathophysiological processes including atherosclerosis. Using RNA-seq profiling of the intima of lesions, here we identify a macrophage-specific lncRNA MAARS (Macrophage-Associated Atherosclerosis

Ubiquitination‐Dependent LLGL2 Degradation Drives Colorectal Cancer Progression via THBS3 mRNA Stabilization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
During the progression of CRC, MDM2, as an E3 ubiquitin ligase, promotes the degradation of the LLGL2 protein. Reduced expression of the LLGL2 protein leads to the loss of support for the CNOT1 protein, decreasing the degradation of THBS3 mRNA. The increased THBS3 further activates the PI3K‐Akt pathway, promoting the proliferation and metastasis of CRC.

LncRNA RPPH1 promotes colorectal cancer metastasis by interacting with TUBB3 and by promoting exosomes-mediated macrophage M2 polarization

open access: yesCell Death and Disease, 2019
Metastasis is a well-known poor prognostic factor in cancer. However, the mechanisms how long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) regulate metastasis in colorectal cancer (CRC) remain largely unknown.

Interactome analysis reveals that lncRNA HULC promotes aerobic glycolysis through LDHA and PKM2

open access: yesNature Communications, 2020
Interacting with proteins is a crucial way for long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) to exert their biological responses. Here we report a high throughput strategy to characterize lncRNA interacting proteins in vivo by combining tobramycin affinity purification ...

Single‐Cell Transcriptome Analysis Reveals That Hmga2 Regulates Neuroinflammation and Retinal Function by Modulating Müller Cell Autophagy Through PI3K/AKT Signaling Following MCAO‐Induced Retinal Ischemia

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Employing snRNA‐seq post‐MCAO‐induced retinal ischemia (RI), this study revealed a novel Hmga2‐high Müller cell subpopulation. Hmga2 knockout alleviated neuroinflammation and RI symptoms, potentially by binding PI3K and regulating Müller cell autophagy.

Long non-coding RNA SNHG1 indicates poor prognosis and facilitates disease progression in acute myeloid leukemia

open access: yesBiology Open, 2019
The role of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is becoming increasingly questioned. Previous studies have reported that the lncRNA small nucleolar RNA host gene 1 (SNHG1) is involved in multiple human malignant tumors, while ...

LncRNA GLCC1 promotes colorectal carcinogenesis and glucose metabolism by stabilizing c-Myc

open access: yesNature Communications, 2019
Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) contribute to colorectal cancer (CRC). However, the role of lncRNAs in CRC metabolism, especially glucose metabolism remains largely unknown.

NEAT1 Promotes Epileptogenesis in Tuberous Sclerosis Complex

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The primary neurological manifestations of tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) are intractable epilepsy and intellectual disability. NEAT1 is differentially expressed in TSC‐related epilepsy and influences neuronal excitability by regulating the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway.

lncRNA/MicroRNA interactions in the vasculature [PDF]

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics, 2016
MicroRNA (miRNA) have gained widespread attention for their role in diverse vascular processes including angiogenesis, apoptosis, proliferation, and migration. Despite great understanding of miRNA expression and function, knowledge of long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) molecular mechanisms still remains limited.

Integrated analysis of lncRNA-miRNA-mRNA ceRNA network in squamous cell carcinoma of tongue

open access: yesBMC Cancer, 2019
Numerous studies have highlighted that long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) can bind to microRNA (miRNA) sites as competing endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs), thereby affecting and regulating the expression of mRNAs and target genes. These lncRNA-associated ceRNAs have
