The non-coding RNA landscape of plasma cell dyscrasias [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Despite substantial advancements have been done in the understanding of the pathogenesis of plasma cell (PC) disorders, these malignancies remain hard-to-treat.

Tumor Intrinsic METTL5 Modulates ATF4 Translation to Prevent T Cell‐Induced Ferroptosis in Ovarian Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An integrative analysis combining in vitro genome‐wide immune screens, in vivo ICB screens, and clinical data mining identifies METTL5 as a key tumor‐intrinsic immune factor. Mechanistic studies further reveal the importance of the METTL5‐ATF4‐SLC7A11/SLC3A2‐ferroptosis axis in modulating antitumor immune responses. These findings highlight METTL5 as a

Role of lncRNAs in Cellular Aging [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology, 2016
Aging is a universal, intrinsic, and time-dependent biological decay that is linked to intricate cellular processes including cellular senescence, telomere shortening, stem cell exhaustion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and deregulated metabolism. Cellular senescence is accepted as one of the core processes of aging at the organism level.

Repositioning the Sm-Binding Site in Saccharomyces cerevisiae Telomerase RNA Reveals RNP Organizational Flexibility and Sm-Directed 3′-End Formation

open access: yesNon-Coding RNA, 2020
Telomerase RNA contains a template for synthesizing telomeric DNA and has been proposed to act as a flexible scaffold for holoenzyme protein subunits in the RNP.

Allele‐Specific Regulation of PAXIP1‐AS1 by SMC3/CEBPB at rs112651172 in Psychiatric Disorders Drives Synaptic and Behavioral Dysfunctions in Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies a functional noncoding variant, rs112651172 (C/G), that drives allele‐specific expression of PAXIP1‐AS1 in monozygotic twin pairs discordant for schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. The risk G allele enhances CEBPB binding, leading to lncRNA upregulation, CNTNAP3 derepression, and synaptic and behavioral deficits in mice.

Cuproptosis-related lncRNA predicts prognosis and immune pathways in osteosarcoma patients

open access: yesGuangxi Yike Daxue xuebao
Objective To identify cuproptosis-related lncRNAs (CRLs) and use them to construct models to predict survival in osteosarcoma (OS) patients. Methods RNA-seq data of OS patients were downloaded from the TARGET database along with relevant clinical ...

A Novel Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone 1 (Gnrh1) Enhancer-Derived Noncoding RNA Regulates Gnrh1 Gene Expression in GnRH Neuronal Cell Models. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH), a neuropeptide released from a small population of neurons in the hypothalamus, is the central mediator of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis, and is required for normal reproductive development and function ...

SNORA58 Facilitates Radioresistance via Suppressing JNK1‐Mediated Ferroptosis in Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In ESCC patients, SNORA58 exhibits heterogeneous expression patterns. Its aberrant overexpression stabilizes CTCF by inhibiting ubiquitin‐mediated degradation, leading to the attenuation of JNK1‐mediated ferroptosis induced by radiotherapy through disruption of intracellular iron homeostasis, and ultimately contributes to radioresistance ...
