The Roles of Long Noncoding RNA in Depression

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioscience-Landmark, 2023
Depression is a common psychiatric disorder that brings great pain and burden to patients and their families. However, the pathogenesis underlying the development of depression remains unclear, limiting the development of diagnostic and therapeutic ...

A Critical Review of the Impact of Candidate Copy Number Variants on Autism Spectrum Disorders [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a heterogeneous neurodevelopmental disorder (NDD) that is caused by genetic, epigenetic, and environmental factors. Recent advances in genomic analysis have uncovered numerous candidate genes with common and/or rare mutations that increase susceptibility to ASD.

Challenges and perspectives for structural biology of lncRNAs—the example of the Xist lncRNA A-repeats [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Molecular Cell Biology, 2019
AbstractFollowing the discovery of numerous long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) transcripts in the human genome, their important roles in biology and human disease are emerging. Recent progress in experimental methods has enabled the identification of structural features of lncRNAs. However, determining high-resolution structures is challenging as lncRNAs are

Spatiotemporal Transcriptomic Profiling Reveals the Dynamic Immunological Landscape of Alveolar Echinococcosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An unprecedented high‐resolution spatial atlas of the E. multilocularis infection foci is obtained, revealing the dynamic functions of neutrophils, Spp1+ macrophages, and fibroblasts during disease progression. The transition of parasite control strategy from “active killing” to “negative segregation” by the host may provide instructive insights into ...

MaTAR25: a long non-coding RNA involved in breast cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular & Cellular Oncology, 2021
We recently reported on the role of Mammary Tumor Associated RNA 25 (MaTAR25) in mammary tumor cell proliferation, migration, and invasion. MaTAR25 interacts with transcriptional activator protein Pur-beta (Purb) to regulate its downstream targets such ...

Delivery of A Chemically Modified Noncoding RNA Domain Improves Dystrophic Myotube Function

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CYTOR is a pro‐myogenic ncRNA in skeletal muscle. Here, chemical probing of CYTOR, coupled with functional cellular assays identifies exon 2 as an independent myogenic RNA domain. Chemical engineering of CYTOR exon 2 RNA improves pharmacologic properties, including RNA stability and cell‐autonomous immunogenicity.

ItLnc-BXE: a Bagging-XGBoost-ensemble method with multiple features for identification of plant lncRNAs [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
Motivation: Since long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have involved in a wide range of functions in cellular and developmental processes, an increasing number of methods have been proposed for distinguishing lncRNAs from coding RNAs. However, most of the existing methods are designed for lncRNAs in animal systems, and only a few methods focus on the plant ...

lncRNA/MicroRNA interactions in the vasculature [PDF]

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics, 2016
MicroRNA (miRNA) have gained widespread attention for their role in diverse vascular processes including angiogenesis, apoptosis, proliferation, and migration. Despite great understanding of miRNA expression and function, knowledge of long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) molecular mechanisms still remains limited.

Enhancer Profiling Reveals a Protective Role of RXRα Against Calcium Oxalate‐Induced Crystal Deposition and Kidney Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Comprehensive epigenomic and transcriptomic profiling revealed a dynamic enhancer landscape and gene expression program associated with nephrolithiasis, highlighting RXRα as a central transcription factor in this regulatory network. Tubular‐specific deletion of RXRα increased intrarenal CaOx crystal deposition, while its activation with Bexarotene ...
