Demographic sensitivity inside the local authorities [PDF]

open access: yes
The knowledge of the administrated population it is not wll appreciated at local level by the Administrators (Majors, Councillors, Public Servants). The attention is more devoted to political items and the sensitivity for the numbers of the population is

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Sufficiency of Local Feedback for Sensor-Actuator Network-Based Control Systems with Distance Sensitivity Properties

open access: yesJournal of Sensor and Actuator Networks, 2013
Timely dissemination of required state information poses a significant challenge in the design of distributed sensor/actuator network-based control systems.

Neighborhood-Based Local Sensitivity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We introduce a nonparametric model for sensitivity estimation which relies on generating points similar to the prediction point using its knearest neighbors. Unlike most previous work, the sampled points differ simultaneously in multiple dimensions from the prediction point in a manner dependent on the local density.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Efficient computation of spaced seeds

open access: yesBMC Research Notes, 2012
Background The most frequently used tools in bioinformatics are those searching for similarities, or local alignments, between biological sequences. Since the exact dynamic programming algorithm is quadratic, linear-time heuristics such as BLAST are used.

Quantum-Enhanced Plasmonic Sensing

open access: yes, 2018
Quantum resources can enhance the sensitivity of a device beyond the classical shot noise limit and, as a result, revolutionize the field of metrology through the development of quantum-enhanced sensors. In particular, plasmonic sensors, which are widely

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Local and global sensitivity analysis for railway upgrading between hydrogen fuel cell and electrification

open access: yesHigh-Speed Railway
In the field of rail transit, the UK Department of Transport stated that it will realize a comprehensive transformation of UK railways by 2050, abandoning traditional diesel trains and upgrading them to new environmentally friendly trains.

Supermodular Locality Sensitive Hashes

open access: yes, 2018
In this work, we show deep connections between Locality Sensitive Hashability and submodular analysis. We show that the LSHablility of the most commonly analyzed set similarities is in one-to-one correspondance with the supermodularity of these similarities when taken with respect to the symmetric difference of their arguments.
