ABSTRACT Objective People with epilepsy (PWE) may experience cognitive deficits but fail to undergo formal evaluation. This study compares cognitive status between PWE and healthy controls in the West African Republic of Guinea. Methods A cross‐sectional, case–control study was conducted in sequential recruitment phases (July 2024–July 2025) at Ignace ...

Stochastic Induction of Long-Term Potentiation and Long-Term Depression [PDF]
AbstractLong-term depression (LTD) and long-term potentiation (LTP) of granule-Purkinje cell synapses are persistent synaptic alterations induced by high and low rises of the intracellular calcium ion concentration ([Ca2+]), respectively. The occurrence of LTD involves the activation of a positive feedback loop formed by protein kinase C, phospholipase

Developmental, Neuroanatomical and Cellular Expression of Genes Causing Dystonia
ABSTRACT Objective Dystonia is one of the most common movement disorders, with variants in multiple genes identified as causative. However, an understanding of which developmental stages, brain regions, and cell types are most relevant is crucial for developing relevant disease models and therapeutics.

Engineering the Link: From Genome Interaction Maps to Functional Insight
Advances in chromosome conformation capture have revealed the genome's 3D organization, yet its causal impact on gene regulation remains elusive. This review highlights emerging genome‐engineering tools ‐ zinc fingers, TALEs, and CRISPR‐Cas9 ‐ that enable targeted manipulation of chromatin loops to dissect structure–function relationships. It discusses

Stress and Corticosteroids Modulate Muscarinic Long Term Potentiation (mLTP) in the Hippocampus
Stress influences synaptic plasticity, learning and memory in a steroid hormone receptor dependent manner. Based on these findings it has been proposed that stress could be a major risk factor for the development of cognitive decline and dementia ...

An all‐in‐one analog AI accelerator is presented, enabling on‐chip training, weight retention, and long‐term inference acceleration. It leverages a BEOL‐integrated CMO/HfOx ReRAM array with low‐voltage operation (<1.5 V), multi‐bit capability over 32 states, low programming noise (10 nS), and near‐ideal weight transfer.

Symmetry Enhanced Unconventional Spin Current Anisotropy in a Collinear Antiferromagnet
Spin‐orbit torques (SOTs) are investigated in epitaxial FeSn, a topological antiferromagnet with kagome lattice symmetry. Combining experimental and theoretical approaches, the study identifies a six‐fold conventional damping‐like spin‐orbit torque (DL SOT), along with the coexistence of both six‐fold and uniaxial unconventional field‐like torque (FL ...
