Structural Variants in the Human Genome Associated With Gut Microbiome and Blood Metabolic Traits With Potential Causal Links

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Based on a multi‐omics cohort of 2002 individuals comprising high‐depth whole‐genome and metagenomic sequencing data, blood metabolites, and detailed questionnaires, we identified 138 859 high‐confidence SVs, uncovering 36 significant SV–microbiome associations and 48 SV–blood metabolite associations.

The long noncoding RNA landscape in cardiovascular disease: a brief update

open access: yes, 2018
In this review, we summarize new knowledge on long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) linked to cardiovascular disease, in particular to heart ...

Systematic Review of Females With Intellectual Disability and MECP2 Duplication

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT MECP2 Duplication Syndrome (MDS) is a rare, X‐linked neurodevelopmental disorder typically affecting males. Females with MDS have been reported and are compiled here. We conducted a systematic review (PROSPERO CRD420250652426) of PubMed, EMBASE, and Google Scholar extracting individual participant data.

Discovery and In Vivo Characterization of Long Noncoding RNAs

open access: yes, 2017
The noncoding genome, or the portion of the genome that does not encode for proteins, encompasses >95% of the human genome. It has been found that the majority of disease-associated genetic variants identified by genome-wide association studies (GWAS ...

Exploring Genetic and Biological Interconnections Between Neuroticism, Psychological Distress, Insomnia, and C‐Reactive Protein: Insights From the UK Biobank

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part B: Neuropsychiatric Genetics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Psychobehavioral and physical health traits often co‐occur. Although previous studies have identified associations between neuroticism, psychological distress, insomnia, and inflammatory biomarkers such as C‐reactive protein (CRP), it remains unclear whether there is a genetic basis to these associations, and which biological pathways are ...

The International Consortium for Arthrogryposis: A Collaborative Framework for Early Detection, Care, Research, and Education

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part C: Seminars in Medical Genetics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Arthrogryposis multiplex congenita (AMC) is a group of rare congenital conditions, characterized by multiple joint contractures but may involve any body system including central nervous system. AMC is etiologically heterogeneous, with over 400 genetic and many non‐genetic causes implicated in its prenatal development.

Prenatal Presentation of RMRP‐Related Skeletal Dysplasia: Clinical and Genomic Expansion

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part C: Seminars in Medical Genetics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The RNA subunit of the mitochondrial RNA processing endoribonuclease complex is encoded by RMRP. Biallelic variants in RMRP are known for anauxetic dysplasia 1 (AD), cartilage‐hair hypoplasia (CHH), and metaphyseal dysplasia without hypotrichosis.

Long Noncoding RNA and Epigenomics

open access: yes, 2011
Accumulating evidence over the last decade has presented us with the intriguing observation that the majority of eukaryotic genomes are pervasively transcribed to encode a complex network of small and long noncoding RNAs.

Long Noncoding RNAs, Chromatin, and Development

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, 2010
The way in which the genome of a multicellular organism can orchestrate the differentiation of trillions of cells and many organs, all from a single fertilized egg, is the subject of intense study.
