Correlators of long strings on AdS3×S3×T4
In this work, we calculate correlators of long strings on AdS3×S3×T4 with pure NS-NS flux. We first construct physical vertex operators that correspond to long strings. Due to the GSO projection, they depend on the parity of the spectral flow parameter w.

Deriving the long-string CFT in AdS3
We revisit the path integral formulation of bosonic string theory in locally-AdS3 spacetimes. Through a careful analysis of the worldsheet sigma model, we write down an effective theory of long strings living near the boundary of AdS3.

Gravitational waves from high temperature strings
We study finite temperature effects in string cosmology and their potential gravitational wave signature. Expanding on our recent work [1], we consider a general configuration of highly excited open and closed strings at high enough temperature to be in ...

The scattering amplitude of stringy hadrons: strings with opposite charges on their endpoints
In this note we describe hadrons: mesons and baryons as strings with electric charges on their endpoints. We consider here only the neutral system with opposite charges, coupled to an external constant electromagnetic field.

Mass and spin for classical strings in dS3
We demonstrate that all rigidly rotating strings with center of mass at the origin of the dS3 static patch satisfy the Higuchi bound. This extends the observation of Noumi et al.

Holographic duals of long open strings [PDF]
We study the holographic map between long open strings, which stretch between D-branes separated in the bulk space-time, and operators in the dual boundary theory. We focus on a generalization of the Sakai-Sugimoto holographic model of QCD, where the simplest chiral condensate involves an operator of this type.

Duality and combinatorics of long strings in [PDF]
Abstract The counting of long strings in ADS 3 , in the context of type IIB string theory on ADS 3 ×S 3 ×T 4 , is used to exhibit the action of the duality group O(5,5;Z) , and in particular its Weyl subgroup S 5 ⋈Z 2 , in the non-perturbative phenomena associated with continuous spectra of ...

On the quantization of folded strings in non-critical dimensions
Classical rotating closed string are folded strings. At the folding points the scalar curvature associated with the induced metric diverges. As a consequence one cannot properly quantize the fluctuations around the classical solution since there is no ...

The dressing method as non linear superposition in sigma models
We apply the dressing method on the Non Linear Sigma Model (NLSM), which describes the propagation of strings on ℝ × S2, for an arbitrary seed. We obtain a formal solution of the corresponding auxiliary system, which is expressed in terms of the ...

Effective field theory for closed strings near the Hagedorn temperature
We discuss interacting, closed, bosonic and superstrings in thermal equilibrium at temperatures close to the Hagedorn temperature in flat space. We calculate S-matrix elements of the strings at the Hagedorn temperature and use them to construct a low ...
