Long-term dynamics of cosmological axion strings [PDF]
We present results of new field-theoretic simulation of cosmological axion strings, which are eight times longer than previous ones. We have upgraded our simulation of physical strings in Hiramatsu et al. (2011) in terms of the number of grids as well as the suite of analysis methods.

Long strings and chiral primaries in the hybrid formalism
We revisit two related phenomena in AdS3 string theory backgrounds. At pure NS-NS flux, the spectrum contains a continuum of long strings which can escape to the boundary of AdS3 at a finite cost of energy.

The scattering amplitude of stringy hadrons: strings with opposite charges on their endpoints
In this note we describe hadrons: mesons and baryons as strings with electric charges on their endpoints. We consider here only the neutral system with opposite charges, coupled to an external constant electromagnetic field.

Long-range effects of cosmic string structure [PDF]
We combine and further develop ideas and techniques of Allen \& Ottewill, Phys. Rev.D, {\bf 42}, 2669 (1990) and Kay \& Studer Commun. Math. Phys., {\bf 139}, 103 (1991) for calculating the long range effects of cosmic string cores on classical and quantum field quantities far from an (infinitely long, straight) cosmic string.

Mass and spin for classical strings in dS3
We demonstrate that all rigidly rotating strings with center of mass at the origin of the dS3 static patch satisfy the Higuchi bound. This extends the observation of Noumi et al.

On the quantization of folded strings in non-critical dimensions
Classical rotating closed string are folded strings. At the folding points the scalar curvature associated with the induced metric diverges. As a consequence one cannot properly quantize the fluctuations around the classical solution since there is no ...

The dressing method as non linear superposition in sigma models
We apply the dressing method on the Non Linear Sigma Model (NLSM), which describes the propagation of strings on ℝ × S2, for an arbitrary seed. We obtain a formal solution of the corresponding auxiliary system, which is expressed in terms of the ...

Testing Distributions of Huge Objects [PDF]
We initiate a study of a new model of property testing that is a hybrid of testing properties of distributions and testing properties of strings. Specifically, the new model refers to testing properties of distributions, but these are distributions over ...
