Development of a rapid assay to detect the jellyfish Cyanea nozakii using a loop-mediated isothermal amplification method

open access: yes, 2016
Blooms of the harmful jellyfish Cyanea nozakii, which are a severe nuisance to fisheries and tourisms, frequently occur in the northern East China Sea, Yellow Sea, and Bohai Sea.

Data‐Driven Modeling of Composition–Processing–Microstructure Relations for Recycled Aluminum Cast Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Interpretable machine learning reveals how composition and processing govern the formation and microstructural burden of Fe‐rich intermetallic compounds in recycled Al–Si–Fe–Mn alloys. By separating morphology selection from morphology‐conditioned burden partitioning, this framework shows that identical Fe contents can yield different intermetallic ...

Bilateral SERS‐Microneedle Patch for Co‐Diagnosis of Diabetes Mellitus and Tuberculosis Comorbidity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Our study introduced a U@mP@Au‐mediated bilateral SERS‐microneedle patch for analyzing glucose levels from ISF and sensitively detecting TB biomarkers from sputum, respectively. This integrated dual‐analyte detecting platform can be used for co‐diagnosis of diabetes mellitus (DM) and tuberculosis (TB) comorbidity, which was demonstrated in ex vivo ...

Tailored D‐π Conjugation Boosts Piezocatalytic CO2 Reduction in a Platinum(II)‐Acetylide Framework

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The highly conjugated metalII‐acetylide framework demonstrates efficient ultrasound‐driven conversion of CO2 to CO. The piezoelectric field generated by ultrasound facilitates electron transfer from the tetraphenylene π‐column to the MII‐bis(acetylide) moiety, enabling CO2 activation. Compared to PdII‐ and NiII‐based analogues, the stronger d–π orbital

Ultrasensitive loop mediated isothermal amplification (US-LAMP) to detect malaria for elimination

open access: yesMalaria Journal, 2019
Background Malaria elimination requires diagnostic methods able to detect parasite levels well below what is currently possible with microscopy and rapid diagnostic tests.

Loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) test for detection of Trypanosoma evansi strain B

open access: yes, 2010
Camel Trypanosomiasis (Surra) is mainly caused by Trypanosoma evansi strains that express variable surface glycoprotein (VSG) RoTat 1.2 However, in Kenya a second causative strain that does not express RoTat 1.2 VSG (T. evansi type B) has been identified.

Beyond d‐Band Catalysis: A Critical Review and Descriptor Framework for Rare‐Earth Engineering in Lithium–Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Rare‐earth catalysts regulate lithium–sulfur battery chemistry through f‐orbital–mediated interactions, enabling simultaneous polysulfide adsorption and catalytic conversion on conductive carbon hosts. This synergistic control suppresses the shuttle effect, accelerates redox kinetics, and guides stable Li2S nucleation, providing a mechanistic framework

Loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) method for rapid detection of Trypanosoma brucei rhodesiense

open access: yes, 2008
Loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) of DNA is a novel technique that rapidly amplifies target DNA under isothermal conditions. In the present study, a LAMP test was designed from the serum resistance-associated (SRA) gene of Trypanosoma brucei ...

AI‐Assisted Digital Single‐Molecule Activity Tracker for Decoupling Intrinsic Heterogeneity from Photo‐Oxidative Damage in High‐Photon‐Flux Enzymology

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Employing a digital single‐molecule activity tracker (dSMAT), this research demonstrates that high‐photon‐flux irradiation drives progressive oxidative scarring in polymerases. Unlike simple thermal denaturation, real‐time kinetic tracking dynamically visualizes enzymes degrading into multiple impaired subpopulations.
