Little is known about the genetic impact on loop diuretic effects. We newly investigated five genetic polymorphisms in 95 healthy volunteers, who had ingested bumetanide, frusemide and torsemide. The subjects excreted means of 20.2 g sodium chloride, 2.87 g potassium and 261 mg calcium over 24 h.

Blood pressure effects of SGLT2 inhibitors and GLP‐1 receptor agonists: Mechanisms, trial evidence and Real‐world data

SGLT2 inhibitors and GLP‐1 receptor agonists modestly lower blood pressure across diverse patient populations, including those without diabetes. These effects appear largely independent of glycaemic control and offer additive value in high‐risk patients with overlapping comorbidities.
