Medications That Regulate Pregnane X Receptor: A Systematic Review of Current Evidence

open access: yesPharmacology Research &Perspectives, Volume 14, Issue 4, August 2026.
PRISMA 2020 flow diagram of study selection for this systematic review of medications that regulate the pregnane X receptor (PXR), from 12 236 records screened to 101 included studies. ABSTRACT The pregnane X receptor (PXR) gene encodes a ligand‐activated protein involved with the metabolism and excretion of drugs, toxins, and other xenobiotics.

Safety and Effectiveness of Glecaprevir/Pibrentasvir in Children and Adolescents With Chronic Hepatitis C: Reports From All‐Case Post‐Marketing Surveillance in Japan

open access: yesHepatology Research, Volume 56, Issue 8, Page 1202-1212, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Aim The aim of this all‐case post‐marketing study was to evaluate the real‐world safety and effectiveness in all children and adolescents with chronic hepatitis C with or without compensated cirrhosis treated with glecaprevir/pibrentasvir (G/P) in Japan. Methods This prospective, observational post‐marketing surveillance study was conducted at

Primary cardiovascular preventive effect of thiazolidinedione in adults with type 2 diabetes: A nationwide cohort study in Korea

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, Volume 17, Issue 8, Page 1367-1378, August 2026.
Among Korean adults with type 2 diabetes and no prior cardiovascular disease, thiazolidinedione use was associated with a lower risk of the primary composite outcome of stroke, myocardial infarction, hospitalization for heart failure, and all‐cause mortality compared to dipeptidyl peptidase‐4 inhibitor use. ABSTRACT Background Thiazolidinediones (TZDs)

SERRATE Regulates Floral Meristem Activity by Antagonizing SHOOT MERISTEMLESS and Repressing Cytokinin Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 42, 28 July 2026.
Floral meristem (FM) activity is crucial for the initiation of floral organs. In this study, SE represses IPT7 expression and cytokinin signaling via both the miR171c‐5p–KNAT2 and miR164c–CUC1/2–KNAT2 regulatory modules, thereby repressing FM activity. In contrast, STM induces both KNAT2 and IPT7 expression.

Plasma Very‐Long‐Chain Fatty Acids in X‐Linked Adrenoleukodystrophy: Diagnostic Insights From a Clinical Laboratory Cohort

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, Volume 40, Issue 14, July 2026.
Plasma VLCFA levels are increased in symptomatic X‐linked adrenoleukodystrophy, particularly in patients with cerebral involvement. However, they do not reliably predict disease progression or longitudinal changes. These findings support their diagnostic value while highlighting the need for more robust prognostic biomarkers in clinical practice ...

Effects of lovastatin and dietary cholesterol on bile acid kinetics and bile lipid composition in healthy male subjects.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1994
We measured bile acid kinetics and bile lipids in 12 human subjects on a metabolic ward in four randomly allocated, 6-7 week periods: 1) lovastatin (40 mg b.i.d) + low cholesterol diet (mean 246 mg/day); 2) lovastatin+high cholesterol diet (mean 1071 mg ...
