Simulation of the generation and propagation of blast induced shock waves [PDF]
Hybrid modelling of blast vibration uses the signal produced from a single hole test shot to simulate the vibration that would be produced by a full-scale production blast.

Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

The interaction and pharmacological modulation of the cardiorespiratory responses to primary thoracic blast injury, haemorrhage resuscitation [PDF]
Blast injuries represent a problem for civilian and military populations. The response to thoracic blast injury involves a reflex bradycardia, hypotension and apnoea.

In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Low-Complexity Systolic V-BLAST Architecture [PDF]
In multiple-input multiple-output systems, an ordered successive interference canceller, termed the vertical Bell laboratories space-time (V-BLAST) algorithm, offers good performance.

Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Chronic post-traumatic stress disorder-related traits in a rat model of low-level blast exposure. [PDF]
The postconcussion syndrome following mild traumatic brain injuries (mTBI) has been regarded as a mostly benign syndrome that typically resolves in the immediate months following injury. However, in some individuals, symptoms become chronic and persistent.

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...
