Existence and blow-up of solutions for a semilinear filtration problem

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2013
We first examine the existence and uniqueness of local solutions to the semilinear filtration equation $u_t=Delta K(u)+lambda f(u)$, for $lambda>0$, with initial data $u_0geq 0$ and appropriate boundary conditions. Our main result is the proof of blow-

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

Existence of three solutions for a higher-order boundary-value problem

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2009
We consider a higher-order multi-point boundary-value problem with a nonlinear boundary condition. Sufficient conditions are obtained for the existence of three solutions.

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

Upper and lower solutions for a second-order three-point singular boundary-value problem

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2009
We study the singular boundary-value problem $$displaylines{ u''+ q(t)g(t,u)=0,quad t in (0,1),; eta in (0,1),;gamma >0cr u(0)=0, quad u(1)=gamma u(eta),.

The method of lower and upper solutions for fourth order equations with the Navier condition

open access: yesBoundary Value Problems, 2017
The aim of this paper is to explore the method of lower and upper solutions in order to give some existence results for equations of the form y ( 4 ) ( x ) + ( k 1 + k 2 ) y ″ ( x ) + k 1 k 2 y ( x ) = f ( x , y ( x ) ) , x ∈ ( 0 , 1 ) , $$y^{(4)}(x)+(k_{

Upper and lower solutions satisfying the inverse inequality [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Polonici Mathematici, 1997
Summary: We consider multipoint and two-point BVPs for second order ordinary differential equations with a Carathéodory right hand side. We prove the existence of solutions provided there exist upper and lower solutions of the BVP and the upper solution is less than the lower one.

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.
