The Relationship Between Nutrition Habits, BMI, Anxiety, and Seborrheic Dermatitis. [PDF]
ABSTRACT Background Seborrheic dermatitis (SD) is a chronic, inflammatory disease characterized by unknown etiopathogenesis. It affects skin areas rich in sebaceous glands. There are strong data on the relationship between nutrition habits, body mass index (BMI), psychoemotional status, and sebaceous gland diseases such as acne, rosacea, and ...

T lymphocytes are one of the richest sources of protein mediators. Many of their effects, such as T cell help, growth stimulation, macrophage activation or suppression are caused by the release of these molecular mediators, which include the interleukins IL-2, IL-3, IL-4, IL-5, IL-6, interferons alpha and beta (IFN alpha and beta), tumour necrosis ...

T lymphocytes from patients with primary biliary cirrhosis produce reduced amounts of lymphotoxin, tumor necrosis factor and interferon-gamma upon mitogen stimulation [PDF]
Primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC) is considered an autoimmune disease characterized by destruction of small intrahepatic bile ducts by lymphocytes. Altered functions of these lymphocytes might reflect an abnormal immune response leading to tissue damage ...

Interleukin 2 transcription factors as molecular targets of cAMP inhibition: delayed inhibition kinetics and combinatorial transcription roles [PDF]
Elevation of cAMP can cause gene-specific inhibition of interleukin 2 (IL-2) expression. To investigate the mechanism of this effect, we have combined electrophoretic mobility shift assays and in vivo genomic footprinting to assess both the availability ...

A combination of soluble helper factors bypasses the requirement for stimulator cells and induces nonspecific cytotoxic T cell responses [PDF]
The specificity of cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) responses generated in the presence of lymphokines was studied. Thymic responder cells were activated in the presence of stimulator cells that differed in their metabolic activity.

New simplified molecular design for functional T cell receptor [PDF]
We have produced a chimeric single-chain T cell receptor (TcR) that combines the specific antibody recognition function and TcR/CD3 signaling properties within the same polypeptide chain.

Cure of murine leishmaniasis with anti-interleukin 4 monoclonal antibody. Evidence for a T cell-dependent, interferon gamma-independent mechanism. [PDF]
BALB/c mice infected with Leishmania major develop fatal, progressive disease, despite an immune response characterized by expansion of CD4+ T cells in the draining lymph nodes.

Lymphokines in the rheumatoid joint [PDF]
AbstractJoint fluids and culture supernatants of synovial tissue were examined for the presence of two lymphokines. Migration inhibitory activity was found in 16 of 22 rheumatoid fluids (73%), in 3 of 15 osteoarthritis fluids (20%), and in 3 of 11 fluids from patients with various inflammatory arthritides (27%).

Interferon as a macrophage activating factor. I. Enhancement of cytotoxicity by fresh and matured human monocytes in the absence of other soluble signals [PDF]
The cytolytic activity ofhuman peripheral blood monocytes in vitro against K-562 human leukaemic target cells was stimulated by human fibroblast (fi-) and leucocyte (a-) interferon (IFN). Stimulation was by up to several times the corresponding control

2′‐fucosyllactose prevented DSS‐induced intestinal inflammatory damage through exerting prebiotic capacity and regulating the intestinal immune response to gut microbiota. ABSTRACT Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), a recurrent gastrointestinal disease, is characterized by dysbiosis and inflammation.
