Clinicopathological and Prognostic Disparities in Part‐Solid Versus Pure Solid Pulmonary Nodules as Early‐Stage Lung Adenocarcinoma

open access: yesThoracic Cancer, Volume 17, Issue 12, June 2026.
For clinical stage IA lung adenocarcinoma, part‐solid nodules (PSN) show lower CT‐solid value (−13.2 HU), less lymph node metastasis (11.2%), and better 5‐year recurrence‐free survival (87.6%) than pure solid nodules (SPN; 22.2 HU, 20.6%, 79.8%). Sublobar resection with limited nodal sampling appears safe for PSN, whereas SPN may require lobectomy and ...

Feasibility and workflow analysis of confocal microscopy in robot‐assisted prostatectomy

open access: yesBJU International, Volume 138, Issue S1, Page S77-S87, June 2026.
Objectives To assess the diagnostic accuracy, workflow feasibility, and downstream compatibility of fluorescence confocal microscopy (Histolog® Scanner [HS]; SamanTree Medical SA, Lausanne, Switzerland) compared with frozen section (FS) for intraoperative margin evaluation (IME) during nerve‐sparing robot‐assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP). Patients

Use of parallel fluorescent confocal microscopy for detection of prostatic adenocarcinoma

open access: yesBJU International, Volume 138, Issue S1, Page S31-S39, June 2026.
Objective To provide a histological catalogue and defined criteria for the diagnosis of prostatic adenocarcinoma and its variants using the fluorescent confocal microscope (FCM) platform. Methods A total of 22 radical prostatectomy specimens were serially sectioned and scanned with the FCM.

How to Define the Gastroesophageal Junction

open access: yesDigestive Endoscopy, Volume 38, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Adenocarcinomas at the gastroesophageal junction (GEJ) are increasingly common worldwide. Current classifications, such as Siewert type II and Nishi, provide a foundation, but establishing a transparent and widely accepted framework could considerably enhance identification and treatment efforts.
