ZFPL1 Promotes Colorectal Cancer Progression by Stabilizing ASS1 to Drive the Urea Cycle and M2 Macrophage‐Mediated Metastatic Colonization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ScRNA‐seq reveals ZFPL1‐specific enrichment in malignant CRC cells. Mechanistically, ZFPL1 stabilizes ASS1 by blocking K57 ubiquitination, activating urea cycle metabolism to drive progression. ZFPL1 inhibition reprograms the TME by suppressing M2 macrophages polarization and promotion M1 macrophages, thereby inhibiting CRC liver metastasis ...

An evidence-based treatment algorithm for colorectal polyp cancers:results from the Scottish Screen-detected Polyp Cancer Study (SSPoCS) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Objectives: Colorectal polyp cancers present clinicians with a treatment dilemma. Decisions regarding whether to offer segmental resection or endoscopic surveillance are often taken without reference to good quality evidence. The aim of this study was to

A Unique Chimeric RNA: ERCC1‐iASPP Drives Benzo[a]pyrene‐Induced Lung Carcinogenesis via Dual Coding and Non‐Coding Mechanisms

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The chimeric RNA ERCC1‐iASPP possesses dual coding and non‐coding functions, synergistically accelerating the process of cellular malignant transformation. Abstract Genetic variation at 19q13.3 critically modulates chemical carcinogen‐induced lung carcinogenesis, particularly in mediating the activity of benzo[a]pyrene (B[a]P), a major polycyclic ...

Predictive Factors Affecting Axillary Lymph Node Metastasis in Breast Cancer

open access: yesHaseki Tıp Bülteni, 2019
Aim:The status of axillary lymph node metastasis (ALNM) at diagnosis has been considered as one of the most important prognostic factors for overall and disease-free survival in patients with breast cancer. Determination of breast cancer patients at risk

Laeverin is Cell‐Surface Target for Liquid‐Phase Metastasizing Cancer Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study revealed that epithelial cancer cells in the floating phase induce the expression of laeverin (LVRN) that is a trophoblast‐specific and cell‐surface immunoregulatory factor and showed that anti‐LVRN ADC is a promising agent that can attack cancer cells in the metastatic liquid phase and block further distant metastasis.

Decoding Triphenotypic Neutrophils in Cervical Cancer Evolution and Targeting SPP1+/GBP1+/ELOVL5+ Tumor‐Associated Neutrophils to Sensitize Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The functional schematic diagram of tumor associated neutrophils. Abstract Enhancing cervical cancer (CC) immunotherapy requires deciphering the heterogeneous tumor immune microenvironment (TIME), particularly neutrophil phenotypic dynamics. Here, 1) we collected 543 CC cases to find that patients with elevated neutrophil levels have a higher incidence

Malignant priapism due to penile metastases. Case series and literature review [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Malignant priapism secondary to penile metastases is a rare condition. This term was originally used by Peacock in 1938 to describe a condition of painful induration and erection of the penis due to metastatic infiltration by a neoplasm.
