Synthesis of Lysophospholipids

open access: yesMolecules, 2010
New synthetic methods for the preparation of biologically active phospholipids and lysophospholipids (LPLs) are very important in solving problems of membrane–chemistry and biochemistry.

The acquisition of lysophosphatidylcholine by African trypanosomes

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1993
Bloodstream forms of the African trypanosome, Trypanosoma brucei, can acquire substantial amounts of exogenous lysophospholipid. Lysophosphatidylcholine uptake is through a pathway consisting of three enzymes, phospholipase A1, acyl-CoA ligase, and lysophosphatidylcholine:acyl-CoA acyltransferase. The pathway enables the organism to acquire fatty acids

Dapagliflozin alleviates high‐fat‐induced obesity cardiomyopathy by inhibiting ferroptosis

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 1358-1373, April 2025.
Abstract Aim: Dapagliflozin (Dapa) is a novel hypoglycaemic agent with multiple cardiovascular protective effects, and it is widely used in treatment of heart failure patients, but whether it can improve obese phenotype of heart failure and its mechanism is still unclear.

Relationship of lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2 and oxidized low density lipoprotein in carotid atherosclerosis[S]

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2009
Plasma levels of lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2 (Lp-PLA2) and oxidized low density lipoprotein (oxLDL) have been identified as risk factors for cardiovascular disease.

Seed lipid profiles of perennial ryegrass: Global patterns and differentiation of ryegrass cultivars and Epichloë endophytes

open access: yesGrassland Research, EarlyView.
Seed lipid profiles from three ryegrass cultivars infected with AR501 show distinct changes in the medium‐chain diacylglycerols, triacylglycerols and sphingolipids. The differential peal LN745.5052_5.78 can be identified as PG 16:0_18:2 with the supporting ms2 fragmentation spectrum. Abstract Background Forage perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.) has

Pharmacological effects of gastrodin: Insight into neurological diseases and mechanism in ferroptosis and pyroptosis

open access: yesIbrain, Volume 11, Issue 1, Page 74-83, Spring 2025.
Pharmacological effects of gastrodin include prevention and treatment of cognitive decline and reperfusion injuries, anticonvulsion, antiepilepsy, antidepressants, and analgesia, which are related to antiferroptosis and antipyroptosis. Abstract Gastrodin, as an effective monomer of gastrodia elata, plays a significant role in anti‐inflammatory ...

Maternal and infant gut microbiome

open access: yesiMeta, EarlyView.
The maternal–infant continuum involves critical windows of host–microbiota co‐adaptation. Preconception, maternal and paternal microbiomes modulate immunity and reproduction. During pregnancy, a gut–placenta axis emerges, where microbial metabolites influence fetal growth or contribute to complications like gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM ...

Lysophosphatidylcholine stimulates phospholipase D activity in mouse peritoneal macrophages

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1999
Lysophosphatidylcholine (lysoPC) is a bioactive phospholipid that is involved in atherogenesis and inflammatory processes. However, the present understanding of mechanisms whereby lysophosphatidylcholine exerts its pathophysiological actions is ...

A gut microbiome‐lipid axis in early pregnancy is associated with metabolic dysregulation and diabetes risk

open access: yesiMeta, EarlyView.
Early‐pregnancy microbiome and lipidome profiling identified a microbiome‐glycosphingolipid axis associated with later gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) risk. In the prospective pregnancy cohort, women who later developed GDM showed altered gut microbial composition, enriched microbial lipid biosynthesis pathways, and broad plasma lipidomic changes ...

A Lipid‐Conjugation Strategy for Intracellular Reactive Oxygen Species Control in Hepatic Cells

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 33, 10 August 2026.
A lipid conjugation strategy anchors a manganese Salen complex within phospholipid membranes, yielding stable, catalytically active liposomes. These lipid–metal assemblies efficiently degrade reactive oxygen species (ROS) and enable intracellular redox control in steatotic HepaRG cells, offering a precise route to biomimetic antioxidant design ...
