GHRHR Deficiency Enhances Retinal Ganglion Cell Survival and Visual Functions in Experimental Glaucoma by Inhibiting Ferroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Glaucoma, a major cause of blindness, involves retinal ganglion cell (RGC) degeneration. This study shows growth hormone‐releasing hormone receptor (GHRHR) deficiency preserves RGC survival and restores vision, unlike activation which only aids survival.

Magnetic Reprogramming of Macrophages Stimulates Phagocytosis of Breast Cancer Cells via a TRPC1‐STING Inflammatory Axis

open access: yesSmart Medicine
The reprogramming of tumor‐associated macrophages (TAMs) from a pro‐tumoral M2 to an anti‐tumoral M1 phenotype is an attractive therapeutic strategy whose clinical translation is undermined by the systemic toxicity of currently available pharmacological ...

From “metabolic storm” to “immune paralysis”: the dynamic evolution of macrophages and metabolism reprogramming in ARDS

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
Sepsis is characterized by high mortality and a complicated pathological mechanism. Macrophages play a crucial role in the initiation and progression of sepsis-associated acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).

ROS Self‐Supply Nanoplatform Based on Fenton Catalyst for Chemodynamic and Immunotherapy: Reprogramming Cold Tumor Into Hot Tumor in Cancer Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multifunctional HA‐conjugated nanoplatform (HA‐PGMC) integrates CuO2, glucose oxidase, and mil‐100 to enable cascade catalytic ROS generation in tumor microenvironments. This self‐supplying ROS strategy induces immunogenic cell death, reprograms “cold” tumors into “hot” ones, and synergizes with PD‐L1 blockade, achieving potent chemodynamic ...

Mathematical modeling of macrophage reprogramming during inflammation and immunity processes: obstacles and opportunities

open access: yesСеченовский вестник, 2015
This mini-review is devoted to the problem of mathematical modeling of macrophage-related processes during inflammation and immunopatohological states, especially regarding the aspect of the modeling of gene expression modulatory mechanisms and ...

Ferroptosis-driven metabolic reprogramming in macrophages: Reshaping glucose utilization landscapes

open access: yesChinese Medical Journal
. Ferroptosis, an iron-dependent form of programmed cell death, has attracted significant attention in the field of immunometabolism. Macrophages, which are key immune cells, undergo metabolic reprogramming and polarization, influencing disease ...

TOLLIP Inhibits Psoriasis Progression via Suppressing PKM2‐Mediated Glycolysis in Keratinocytes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, we identify TOLLIP as a critical regulator of psoriasis pathogenesis through its modulation of glycolytic metabolism. Our findings establish the TOLLIP‐PKM2‐glycolysis axis as a key mechanism linking metabolic reprogramming to psoriasis pathogenesis, and propose TOLLIP as a promising therapeutic target.

Morphological plasticity facilitates lung adaptation and dynamic immune remodeling in Mycobacterium abscessus infection

open access: yesiScience
Summary: Mycobacterium abscessus pulmonary disease (Mab-PD) shows rising global incidence and low cure rates. Mab exhibits marked phenotypic heterogeneity, with infection outcomes likely dependent on strain-specific host interactions.

Lactiplantibacillus Plantarum GUANKE Alleviates Allergic Asthma by Restricting Monocyte‐to‐DC Differentiation Via Microbiota‐Associated IAA

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lactiplantibacillus plantarum GUANKE remodels the indigenous gut microbiota and is associated with microbiota‐dependent restoration of circulating IAA. IAA treatment attenuates JAK3‐STAT3 and Jag1‐Notch4‐Hey1 signaling and reduces CX3CR1+Ly6C− monocytic precursor generation and pulmonary CD11b+ DC accumulation, together with reduced Th2 inflammation ...

The molecular mechanism of macrophage-adipocyte crosstalk in maintaining energy homeostasis

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
Interactions between macrophages and adipocytes in adipose tissue are critical for the regulation of energy metabolism and obesity. Macrophage polarization induced by cold or other stimulations can drive metabolic reprogramming of adipocytes, browning ...
