MADS-box genes expressed during tomato seed and fruit development
Plant Molecular Biology, 2003MADS-box genes in plants are putative transcription factors involved in regulating numerous developmental processes, such as meristem and organ identity in inflorescences and in flowers. Recent reports indicate that they are involved in other processes than flower development such as the establishment of developing embryos, seed coat and ultimately in ...

Cloning, mapping and expression analysis of barley MADS-box genes
Plant Molecular Biology, 2000Six MADS-box cDNA clones were isolated by heterologous screening from a barley inflorescence cDNA library. Based on sequence comparison to known MADS-box genes, the barley MADS-box (BM) genes were grouped into three distinct phylogenetic subclasses of the MADS-box gene family.

Characterization and transcriptional profiles of two rice MADS-box genes
Plant Science, 2000The plant MADS-box gene family plays a key role in plant development, especially in flower development. We designed degenerate primer according to the MADS-box conserved region and isolated two cDNA from rice, FDRMADS6 and FDRMADS7, which are homologous to AP1.

Dormancy-Associated MADS-BOX Genes: A Review
2015Dormancy-associated MADS-BOX (DAM) genes encode transcription factors suspected of regulating bud dormancy in numerous perennials. This chapter discusses the functional genetics and regulation of these genes. Further, this chapter summarizes the supporting evidence for these transcription factors playing a central role in seasonal bud dormancy ...

CHARACTERIZATION OF RIPENING-SPECIFIC MADS-BOX GENES FROM BANANA
Acta Horticulturae, 2007The study of developmental control of banana ripening has been initiated by cloning two MADS-box cDNA fragments (MaMADS1, MaMADS2) from ripening banana. The genes showed 66% homology to each other and 49 and 54% homology to LeRIN, respectively. Their homology to C-terminus is only 18 and 33%, respectively.

MADS-BOX GENES AND USES THEREOF
2000Described are nucleic acid molecules encoding novel MADS-box proteins which are expressed in the upper florets of spikelets of grass inflorescences as well as regulatory sequences which naturally regulate the expression of such nucleic acid molecules.
