WEST: Impact of wall conditions on impurity sources and core contamination for various plasma shapes*

open access: yesNuclear Materials and Energy
WEST’s unique characteristics with nearly all tungsten (W) PFCs offer an ideal platform to study plasma operations and plasma scenario development for long-pulsed, actively cooled, nearly all W-PFC tokamaks [1]. W erosion/redeposition of the PFCs and the

Spatial and Magnetic Confinement of Massless Dirac Fermions

open access: yes, 2021
The massless Dirac fermions and the ease to introduce spatial and magnetic confinement in graphene provide us unprecedented opportunity to explore confined relativistic matter in this condensed-matter system.

Calorimetry measurement for energy balance and energy distribution in WEST for L-mode plasmas

open access: yesNuclear Fusion
This paper presents the energy balance of 602 pulses from four different experimental campaigns for the WEST tokamak. Different magnetic configurations have been studied, with lower single null (LSN) and upper single null (USN) configuration with ...

Identification of a double decay length (λqt) heat flux deposition shape with embedded thermal measurement and neural network

open access: yesNuclear Materials and Energy
The estimation of the heat flux density distribution profiles in tokamak devices is a very important research topic for edge plasma physics purposes and also to ensure the safety of the machine.

Experimental and numerical modeling of plasma start-up assisted by electron drift injection on J-TEXT

open access: yesNuclear Fusion, 2023
Start-up is one of the critical phases for tokamak discharge. The electron drift injection (EDI) system has been developed on J-TEXT for start-up studies.

Refining light impurity content estimates at the lower divertor based on experimental data in WEST

open access: yesNuclear Materials and Energy, 2023
WEST is an actively cooled, long-pulse tokamak with nearly all plasma-facing components (PFC) made of tungsten (W). One of the aims of WEST is to study plasma operation with W PFCs in preparation for long-pulse operation on W divertor devices like ITER ...

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Confinement-Induced Giant Spin–Orbit-Coupled Magnetic Moment of Co Nanoclusters in TiO2 Films

open access: yes, 2019
High magnetization materials are in great demand for the fabrication of advanced multifunctional magnetic devices. Notwithstanding this demand, the development of new materials with these attributes has been relatively slow.

Dividing and setting strategy of improving calculation efficiency for needle electrode corona discharge with a large‐scale space

open access: yesHigh Voltage, 2022
Needle electrodes are widely used in the research of corona discharge. Aiming at the problem of needle electrode discharge in a large‐scale space (tens or even hundreds of centimetres), a hybrid model was proposed in the previous work.
