Progress in Toroidal Magnetic Confinement

open access: yes, 1979
L'objet de cet article est de discuter les propriétés de confinement des plasmas plongés dans des champs magnétiques quasi toroïdaux. Dans de tels systèmes, le confinement est obtenu par addition de champs magnétiques toroïdaux produits, soit par des ...

Dynamic evolution of periodic collapse and carbon impurity distribution at the plasma boundary with magnetic islands on J-TEXT

open access: yesNuclear Fusion
Periodic collapses at the edge of Ohmic-mode plasma under Resonant Magnetic Perturbation (RMP) have been observed in the J-TEXT tokamak. These collapses occur following the field penetration.

Engineering Layered Magnetic Hydrogels for Cell Placement via Shear and Magnetic Field‐Induced Assembly

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic particles are organized into layered architectures by combining shear flow and magnetic fields, with the resulting structures governed by appropriate Mason numbers. The programmed assemblies provide spatial guidance for cell placement, linking field‐controlled self‐assembly, flow‐induced structuring and biological organization.

The influence of electrode biasing on the up–down asymmetry of HFS-MSN divertor configuration in J-TEXT

open access: yesNuclear Fusion
The ${\mathbf{E}} \times {\mathbf{B}}$ drift is considered a key factor affecting particle and heat fluxes in the divertor. Recently, active modulation of the up–down asymmetry in high-field-side mid-plane single null (HFS-MSN) divertor configuration on ...

Magnetic-Compression/Magnetized-Target Fusion (Mago/Mtf): A Marriage of Inertial and Magnetic Confinement

open access: yes, 1996
Intermediate between magnetic confinement (MFE) and inertial confinement (ICF) in time and density scales is an area of research now known in the US as magnetized target fusion (MTF) and in Russian as MAGO (MAGnitnoye Obzhatiye--magnetic compression ...
