ABOUT A POSSIBLE CONNECTION BETWEEN EARTHQUAKES AND LUNAR-SOLAR GRAVITY VARIATIONS

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений: Геология и разведка, 2018
A possible correlation between the destructive earthquakes of magnitude M = 7 and above and luni-solar gravity variations between 1975 and 2015 has been analyzed.

The Faber-Jackson relation for early-type galaxies: Dependence on the magnitude range

open access: yes, 2010
We take a sample of early-type galaxies from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS-DR7, $\sim$ 90 000 galaxies) spanning a range of approximately 7 $mag$ in both $g$ and $r$ filters and analyse the behaviour of the Faber-Jackson relation parameters as ...

Abnormal low-magnitude seismicity preceding large-magnitude earthquakes

open access: yesNature Communications
Unraveling the precursory signals of potentially destructive earthquakes is crucial to understand the Earth's crust dynamics and to provide reliable seismic warnings. Earthquake precursors are ambiguous, but recent experimental studies suggest that robust warning signs may precede large seismic events in the short (day-to-months) term.

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Comparative Analysis Of Accelerometer Sensor And Piezoelectric Sensor Capabilities In The Early Warning System Earthquake Disaster

open access: yesJournal of Electrical Engineering and Computer
An earthquake is a vibration or shock caused by a sudden release of energy from within the earth, which produces seismic waves. The Indonesian region is currently vulnerable to volcanic and tectonic earthquakes due to the Pacific Ring of Fire, where the ...

MATHEMATICAL MODEL FOR CALCULATING ENERGY CLASS, INTENSITY AND MAGNITUDE OF THE EARTHQUAKE REAL TIME

open access: yesВестник Дагестанского государственного технического университета: Технические науки, 2016
The mathematical dependence, allowing a nomogram based on T.G. Rautian calculates real-time energy class, magnitude and intensity of earthquakes.

On the magnitude of spheres, surfaces and other homogeneous spaces

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper we define the magnitude of metric spaces using measures rather than finite subsets as had been done previously and show that this agrees with earlier work with Leinster in arXiv:0908.1582.

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

IAC-Star: a Code for Synthetic Color-Magnitude Diagram Computation

open access: yes, 2004
The code IAC-star is presented. It generates synthetic HR and color-magnitude diagrams (CMDs) and is mainly aimed to star formation history studies in nearby galaxies. Composite stellar populations are calculated on a star by star basis, by computing the

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...
