The Michael Reaction of Enaminones with N-(p-tolyl)-maleimide: Synthesis and Structural Analysis of Succinimide-enaminones

open access: yesJournal of the Brazilian Chemical Society, 2002
The reaction of N-(p-tolyl)-maleimide with enaminones afforded succinimide-containing enaminones in moderate to good yields, and these compounds were evaluated against E. coli and S. aureus, but no significant antibacterial activity was observed.

From pathogen to “living drug factory” innovative strategies and clinical translation of bacteria as programmable intelligent vectors for cancer therapy

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
Engineered bacteria serve as smart, living therapeutics that target tumors, deliver drugs, and remodel immunosuppressive microenvironments. This review highlights their potential to potentiate immunotherapy, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy, offering a promising paradigm for precise and synergistic cancer treatment. Abstract The dynamic interplay between

Enzymatic Electrosynthesis for Sustainable CO2 Conversion: Advancing Circular Carbon Economy

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
Enzymatic electrosynthesis (EES) offers molecular precision in synthesizing value‐added products from CO2. We highlight its distinct edge over alternative enzyme‐hybrid systems and analyze electron transfer pathways. Key strategies to overcome electron transfer bottlenecks and expand product diversity are addressed, and also data‐driven approaches for ...

The Glass Transition Temperatures of Copolymers of N-Alkyl Substituted Maleimide and Methylacrylate [PDF]

open access: yes, 1979
The glass transition temperatures of copolymers of N-alkyl maleimide and methylacrylate were measured by use of a glass dilatometer. The glass transition temperature (Tg) increases with increase in the amount of maleimide unit in copolymer, and ...

Cyclopropylamine‐Derived Distonic Iminium Radicals: Photoinduced Strategies in Chemo‐ and Stereo‐Selective Synthesis

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Cyclopropylamines have emerged as powerful photocatalytic building blocks. Upon light‐induced single‐electron oxidation, they undergo strain‐release ring opening to generate distonic iminium radicals that enable diverse transformations, including ring‐opening functionalization, formal [3 + 2] cycloadditions, radical cascades, and asymmetric bond ...

Oligonucleotide cyclization: The thiol-maleimide reaction revisited

open access: yes
A novel method to synthesize cyclic oligonucleotides (5- to 26-mer) using the thiol-maleimide reaction is described. The target molecules were obtained after subsequent removal of thiol and maleimide protecting groups from 5′-maleimido-3′-thiol ...

Hybrid Macrocyclic Peptides — Synthetic Strategies to Diversify and Cyclize Peptide Libraries in Phage Display Selections

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Hybrid macrocyclic peptides unite genetically encoded peptide libraries with the structural complexity of synthetic small molecules. This Review critically analyzes phage‐compatible cyclization and diversification chemistries, highlights emerging opportunities beyond traditional cysteine‐based approaches, and outlines how future advances may enable the
