A paper‐based bi‐enzymatic sensor for chemiresistive glucose detection
This paper presents the development of a paper‐based glucose sensor utilizing poly(3,4‐ethylene‐dioxythiophene) polystyrene sulfonate (PEDOT:PSS) and a bi‐enzymatic system with Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) and Glucose Oxidase (GOx). The chemiresistive sensor is optimized for detecting glucose in biofluids such as saliva, requiring only 40 µL of sample ...

Maltase 1 regulates DENV2 infection and life history in Aedes aegypti
Our study employed CRISPR/Cas9 to generate a MAL1 knockout strain of Aedes aegypti, demonstrating that the absence of MAL1 significantly suppresses DENV2 replication in the midgut and impairs viral transmission. The mutation also altered life‐history (hatching/pupation/emerging rates and sex‐specific survival), identifying MAL1 as a novel target for ...

Infection of livestock by foot‐and‐mouth disease (FMD) virus (FMDV) has serious economic implications due to productivity losses and trade restrictions. In countries that are free from foot and mouth disease, the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) provides two proof of freedom from disease status categories; namely, FMD‐free without using ...

Structure‐based discovery of thiamine uptake inhibitors
Background and Purpose Thiamine (vitamin B1) is an essential coenzyme and catalyses various reactions in central metabolic pathways. Since mammals have lost the ability to synthesise thiamine de novo, this micronutrient has to be imported via the high affinity solute carriers SLC19A2 and A3 across the plasma membrane.

The membrane‐bound heme flavoprotein MsrQ is the specific electron donor for the periplasmic methionine sulfoxide reductase MsrP. Analysis of its flavin environment revealed that ubiquinone (UQ) is a cofactor for MsrQ. However, redox studies demonstrate that UQ cannot function as an electron donor for the MsrPQ system.

Clinical and biochemical features of some intravenous iron complexes
Most anemia cases associated with iron deficiency. There are various therapeutic approaches to compensate iron deficiency. In some cases,a rapid restore of body iron is required, which is only possible with intravenous administration.

In wheat, INOSITOL‐REQUIRING ENZYME 1 (IRE1) helps plants cope with heat stress by regulating unconventional splicing of the mRNA encoding the bZIP transcription factor TabZIP60, which activates heat‐responsive genes, and cleavage of the precursor of the microRNA miR172 during heat stress.
