A Study on the Performance Comparison of Three Optimal Alpha-Beta-Gamma Filters and Alpha-Beta-Gamma-Eta Filter for a High Dynamic Target [PDF]

open access: yesTransNav, 2017
The Alpha-Beta-Gamma tracking filter is useful for tracking a constant acceleration target with zero lag error in the steady state. It, however, depicts a constant lag error for a maneuvering target.

Improving the Robustness of Visual Teach‐and‐Repeat Navigation Using Drift Error Correction and Event‐Based Vision for Low‐Light Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Visual teach‐and‐repeat (VTR) navigation allows robots to learn and follow routes without building a full metric map. We show that navigation accuracy for VTR can be improved by integrating a topological map with error‐drift correction based on stereo vision.

A sensor selection approach to maneuvering target tracking based on trajectory function of time

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2022
In this paper, we propose a computationally efficient sensor selection approach for maneuvering target tracking using a sensor network with communication bandwidth constraints, given limited prior information on the target maneuvering models.

Multimodal Locomotion in Insect‐Inspired Microrobots: A Review of Strategies for Aerial, Surface, Aquatic, and Interfacial Motion

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This review identifies key design considerations for insect‐inspired microrobots capable of multimodal locomotion. To draw inspiration, biological and robotic strategies for moving in air, on water surfaces, and underwater are examined, along with approaches for crossing the air–water interface.

Extended-State-Observer-Based Collision-Free Guidance Law for Target Tracking of Autonomous Surface Vehicles with Unknown Target Dynamics

open access: yesComplexity, 2018
This paper is concerned with the target tracking problem of an autonomous surface vehicle in the presence of a maneuvering target. The velocity information of target is totally unknown to the follower vehicle, and only the relative distance and angle ...

Tumbling Magnetic Microrobots for Targeted In Vivo Drug Delivery in the GI Tract

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
We introduce a microrobot design and integrated system for on‐demand targeted drug release in the gastrointestinal tract. The microrobot has an embedded magnet for actuation with external magnetic fields and is visualized in real time using ultrasound. It has two drug release ports sealed with a thermally sensitive wax. Local heating of the wax using a
