Extended batch adsorber analogue model (e‐BAAM) for rapid evaluation of CO2 capture pressure swing adsorption cycles

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract This work presents a simplified extended‐batch adsorber analogue model (e‐BAAM) to quantify key performance metrics such as purity, recovery, and energy trends for various pressure swing adsorption (PSA) process cycles for CO2$$ {\mathrm{CO}}_2 $$ capture.

Sugar Maple and Red Maple Face-Off: Which Produces More and Sweeter Sap?

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Among the species used for syrup production, sugar maple (Acer saccharum Marsh.) is preferred by producers, while red maple (Acer rubrum L.) is considered less productive in terms of sap yield and sugar content.

Performance of Red Maple Selections in Southern Georgia [PDF]

open access: yesHortTechnology, 2000
In 1991, a cooperative project with the U.S. National Arboretum in Washington, D.C., was initiated in Tifton, Ga. (USDA hardiness zone 8a) to evaluate red maples ( Acer rubrum L.) potentially suitable for the coastal plain region of the southeastern U.S.

Inherited metabolic epilepsies–established diseases, new approaches

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView.
Abstract Inherited metabolic epilepsies (IMEs) represent the inherited metabolic disorders (IMDs) in which epilepsy is a prevailing component, often determining other neurodevelopmental outcomes associated with the disorder. The different metabolic pathways affected by individual IMEs are the basis of their rarity and heterogeneity.

Early Autumn Senescence in Red Maple (Acer rubrum L.) Is Associated with High Leaf Anthocyanin Content

open access: yesPlants, 2015
Several theories exist about the role of anthocyanins in senescing leaves. To elucidate factors contributing to variation in autumn leaf anthocyanin contents among individual trees, we analysed anthocyanins and other leaf traits in 27 individuals of red

PERFORMANCE OF SELECT RED MAPLE CULTIVARS IN THE SOUTHEAST [PDF]

open access: yesHortScience, 1993
Performance evaluation of red maple (Acer rubrum L.) selections in the southeastern U.S. was initiated in November 1988. Seven cultivars, `Autumn Blaze', `Autumn Flame', `Morgan', `Northwood', `October Glory', `Franksred' (Red Sunset TM) and `Schlesingeri', from tissue culture and a group of seedlings obtained from a single source were container grown ...

Consumers' sensory assessments of bigleaf maple (Acer macrophyllum) syrup give way to a promising artisan industry

open access: yesJSFA reports, Volume 5, Issue 3, Page 113-124, March 2025.
Abstract Background Most pure maple syrup produced in North America is produced from the sap of sugar maple trees (Acer saccharum). Interest is growing to utilize other maple species in different regions of North America outside the native range of sugar maple.

Remote sensing of american maple in alluvial forests: a case study in an island complex of the Loire valley (France)

open access: yesiForest - Biogeosciences and Forestry, 2020
Due to their particular topographic position between land and river, riparian forests are ecosystems rich in biodiversity. In France, along the Middle Loire (from Nevers to Angers), Black poplar (Populus nigra L.) forests are often in mixtures with the ...

Living on the edge: Habitat characteristics of northern myotis at the periphery of its distribution

open access: yesThe Journal of Wildlife Management, EarlyView.
Northern myotis selected tall trees with minimal decay, in patches with other roosting options. In our study area, these trees occurred in narrow bands within an agricultural matrix, differing from contiguous forest at the core of the species' distribution. Nevertheless, bats selected the tallest trees in the densest patches available.
