The liquid marbles described to date have been composed of either water or glycerol as the liquid and hydrophobized lycopodium or silica as the stabilizing particles.

2022Abstract Chapter 9 outlines the increasingly sophisticated metropolitan marble-working techniques in the Antonine period, that were employed to enhance the effect of the portraits and keep up with the latest hair- and beard-styles. Portrait models, their ‘replication’, and adjustment are briefly discussed.
