CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

MOLECULAR MARKERS: IMPLEMENTATION IN CROP PLANT BREEDING FOR IDENTIFICATION, INTROGRESSION, AND GENE PYRAMIDING

open access: yesВавиловский журнал генетики и селекции, 2014
Over the past decades, wide theoretical and practical experience has been obtained in application of DNA markers for investigation of plant genetic diversity, construction of molecular genetic maps, mapping of genes and quantitative trait loci, and ...

Molecular marker-assisted selection for seedlessness in atemoya breeding

open access: yesCrop Breeding and Applied Biotechnology, 2022
Perennial plant breeding is an expensive and time-consuming process, mainly due to the extended growth time for juveniles. In these cases, the use of molecular marker-assisted selection (MMAS) allows for the selectionof a characteristic of interest at ...

Genome-wide prediction of testcross performance and phenotypic stability for important agronomic and quality traits in elite hybrid rye (Secale cereale L.) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Genomic selection offers a greater potential for improving complex, quantitative traits in winter rye than marker-assisted selection. Prediction accuracies for grain yield for unrelated test populations have, however, to be improved.

Marker‐assisted selection in cattle

open access: yesAnimal Biotechnology, 1992
Abstract Direct observation of genetic differences using molecular techniques has prompted investigation into the nature and amount of genetic variation in cattle. Utilization of molecular data will include parentage analysis, individual identification, sexing of embryos and clones and detection of genetic defects.

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Breeding Aromatic Rice Restorer by Specific Fragrant Molecular Marker-assisted Selection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015

Transcriptional profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles from prebiopsy prostate cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.
